You need to give us some information about the type of position you have been hired for.

You would have an induction period of time where you would be introduced to the staff - who you report to and work with, shown your workstation be that a desk or factory floor etc.

You would be introduced to Health and Safety aspects of your job like fire exits, first aid cabinet or who the designated first aid officer is.

Then shown your work station in more detail - ie given password, email address or shown how your machine hardware, production line area etc.

Then you would be shadowed by a more senior member of staff to initially watch and help you perform certain tasks and then gradually left alone but having an initial person to contact for any questions.

Your standard of work would be checked for any errors or if the rate of work you are producing is up to speed.

If you can provide more details about the occupation and those people that work in that field could provide more detail.

take a test to see if you know the Dewey decimal system. if you did well enough, you'd shelve returned items.
