The SOFA stamp identifies you as being part of the military. It does NOT allow you to arbitrarily enter a foreign country.

All you need to enter Germany is your passport. Keep your SOFA stamp in/with your passport. You may be asked for it but I doubt it. I've had mine for 3 years, and have never been asked for it. My wife has had hers for the last 20 and never been asked for it.

Enjoy Germany. I know that I am.

no such thing as a SOFA ID. your ID is your Brown DoD Card. the SOFA stamp you will receive in your No fee passport when you arrive in Germany. as soon as you got command sponsorship, arrangements should have been made to fly you to Germany, either Commerically or through AMC.

if you are NOT a US citizen, but are a Legal resident, you will need to let Immigration know BEFORE you leave the States in order to be allowed back into the country. If you are not in the US, then you will need to apply for legal residency before leaving Germany when your spouse gets stationed back CONUS.

You should have your Military ID and orders. With those, you won't need a passport. Or just use your passport, and you won't need your ID and orders, of course, have them handy just in case.
