I'm beginning work as an independent contractor for a portamedic company, performing exams on life insurance applicants. The lab kits I've been given have only ONE 21 gauge needle. That's it. I know I'm going to need 22 gauge and butterflies for some patients. Where can I buy them???

Depends where you live. You could try looking for the manufacturers' addresses online or in your local phone book. They may list local agents and suppliers. Large manufacturers are Terumo and Becton-Dickinson, but there may be others. Terumo butterflies work well for us, we use them for pediatric, as well as adults, they are great for people that won't sit perfectly still.

Mia - good luck with your work. Have you looked into Fischer Scientific for your lab supplies? I've used them in the past and highly recommend them.

check your local feed store in your area, they should have them...I buy mine at the feed store along with the vaccines to give them their shots...you can get the needles for about 30 cents a piece

I use PSS ( http://www.pssd.com/ ), but they might sell only to physicians. Call and ask them.

Have you tried calling the company with whom you contract and asking them to supply you with what you need?

Good luck with your work!
