When I went to Thailand, aside from my digital camera, the two things I had with me a lot of the time were a cover-up, sari...sp? and a backpack. My friend and I went on the plane with a roll-away suitcase but once we got there, we noticed most people had big backpacks. Perhaps your sister already has one, but my friend and I bought backpacks and left our suitcases behind. Especially if your sister is going to be island hopping, a backpack is much more sensible since she'll probably be on lots of boats and won't want to roll her suticase. They sell lots of NorthFace backpacks out there though. Oh yea, the Lonely Planet Guide was also VERY useful when we were there, because it made it much faster to figure out what we wanted to do. But mostly everything else your sister will need can be purchased there for very cheap.

Either a good, easy to use digitial camera with lots of memory. Or a good sun hat if she does not have one. Or give her some money for a spa treatment. Spa treatments can run from USD 50 to USD 200 for a whole day treatment.
Below is an example of a spa on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok.

Sometimes the best place or easiest place to go is at the hotel she may be staying at.
The following website www.thaiwebsites.com has many links to things about Thailand.
If she has not made hotel arrangements, have her check out www.asiarooms.com for some of the best hotel rates I have found.
Good luck

I purely went to Thailand at present and it replaced into super. i will't extremely think of of something astonishing or unique that could desire to be a incredible present on your sister yet listed right here are some issues she might desire to easily carry together with her. digital camera with lots of action picture/memory card/battery, sunscreen, umbrella (it rains occassionally), hat (in case you do no longer choose too a lot solar), a instruction manual e book that teaches a number of Thailand's customs and useful words, oh and in case you're bringing something that makes use of a three prong electric plug, that's beneficial to hold a three prong electric plug adapter that brings all of it the way down to 2 prongs because of the fact that maximum shops in Thailand are no longer grounded and use in basic terms 2 prongs. besides: you additionally can get her a stunning swim journey if she's making plans on swimming over there.

Like the others have said: A digital camera is a good idea, if you can afford it. Otherwise, a travel alarm clock is probably one of the most handy things you can have in Asia as well. Waking up to catch an early train or bus is such a hassle if you havent got an alarm!

If she doesn't already have one, a digital camera would be nice. I love mine! Also, a travel alarm clock might come in handy. I've never been to Asia, but I've traveled to Europe several times and I was surprised at how few hotels had alarm clocks.

everything that she might need can be bought here - - so, get her some sort of travel accessory that you think she might like.. or, a lonely planet guide book might serve her well, depending upon the type of travel she will be doing..
