because that is the group of people who other people think are the most important, even though there were many other types of people killed in the camps as well... like gay people, retarded people, gypsies ( never hear about them) and even German communist citizens at the beginning of the war. also other countries lost whole generations of people to the war. At the battle of Stalingrad, Russian and Germany combined to suffer like 1.5 million casualties (that's just one battle). the average life expectancy of Russian soldier at Stalingrad was 48 hours... that means that if you were sent to Stalingrad, that you could be expected to be dead within two days. also... Poland lost something like 18% of their population to the war. And for people who say its because the Jewish people died in a more horrific way... your wrong because many times the soldiers in the armies suffered horrible death, like being blown in half, or freezing to death because your didn't have the right winter gear. now I'm not demeaning how the Jewish people died, but to say the soldiers deaths weren't as bad, is wrong. I think i chalk it up to people only part of the story, and then attaching themselves to what they want to hear and not willing to accept any other info.

Well, according to Wikipedia, the total loss of life in World War II was more like 72 million. There were 25 million military deaths, but the 6 million Jews are not included in that total.

I think it was a lot more than 26 million, as far as deaths go. And don't bring up the issue. Wanting to acknowledge the other victims of the Jewish Holocaust makes you an anti-semite. Jews were the only victims; no homosexuals, socialists, Prisoners of War, gypsies, blacks, Poles, or Slavs were harmed during the Holocaust.

The only German concentration camp prisoner that I knew personally was a Polish Catholic. He was in Dachau. He died in 2006.

The way that these 6 million died were far more cruel than many of the rest of them. It was a slow death to most of these and although the rest died as well, most of the time it was quickly.

You forget about the Jevoah witnesses.

I guess you have very very narrow view of the world.

Go to a book store and read.

There is plenty of information about WWII.

So one race accounts for almost a fourth of all the people killed in WWII!

We won't mention how German homosexuals and communists were rounded up and sent to concentration camps. Wait, I just mentioned it.

Because these particular 6 were slaughtered JUST because of their race and religion.

You must be a typical uneducated anti-Semite Liberal. Is this President Carter???
