why is this so? did i got a virus? also, some of my windows applications such as paint, calculator, volume, and games like solitaire, freecell and others are all gone. please tell me if there's something wrong with my computer.

Just double click on the time and adjust it so it says to right time and date

When your computer is turned off, it has a battery inside it that keeps the date and time and other set up information working in your computer. If that battery has gone bad, the computer will revert to whatever date was put into the computers BIOS chip. Check the documentation for the make and model of computer you have and you will probably find simple instructions for replacing that battery.

Did you installed anything from unusuall website? or anything like that? well its hard to track the issue with so little information. If you can then format the machine and if your windows is genuine then u can download windows defender. That will sure help you in future

you should change your cmos battery..dont worry just cause a cheap cost below usd5 for the window application try this start > control panel > add remove program > add remove window component > accessories and utilities > detail then check the program that you want.

take off the side of your computer and look for the cmos battery about the size of a quarter get the part number on the side and go to your favorite department store and get one

Battery of the mother board is down. so you need to change it. windows applications are killed for virus. you can scan your computer. best job is to fresh load of the operating system.

syncronize it through the clock menu (double click the time)

it could be the battery on the motherboard. replace it. i don't know why your games are gone, but you can replace them at microsoft.com
