help me please my system is 2 years old it has been chrging for 1 hour and will not switch on, and as per normal tom tom site is useless!

Press and hold the reset switch. It's in a little hole near the card slot. You will need a blunt pin, end of a paper clip or similar. While holding the reset press and hold the power button until it powers up. TTs do need the occasional reset. If the "two switch" reset doesn't do it then it's probably in need of professional attention

If you have a capacitor in-line with the amp the capacitor could be bad, if not, you either have a bad connection to the 12v circuit behind the radio or the amp is blown...also check the connection at the battery.
