i went to my local toyota dealer and bought a gallon of toyota brand antifeeze. they charged me over $16.00 for it. why is it that expensive and is it really worth that kind of money? oh yea, it was pre diluted too.

it was probably toyota's long life antifreeze which is expensive. there was probably some parts mark up on that too which made it cost some more.

The pre-diluted pink (Super Long Life)antifreeze started being used around MY02 and is rated for 100,000 miles before it needs to be replaced. After the first replacement, it is recommended to be replaced every 30,000 miles. So, up to 100K, I would top-off with pink, but after 100K, I would you the cheaper Toyota red antifreeze.

Probably just because they can, they will have big overheads so need to have a big mark up on spares etc, for things like oil or antifreeeze & if you do your own maintenance spark plugs youre better going to a motoring store.
I suggest you stick to well known grands though - you can find bargains on eBay, I found the NGK plugs for my Ford their @ a bargain price.

It seems so other antifreeze corrodes the metal stick to the red stuff.

It is a petro chemical based procut. That is reason for such an expensive gallon.
