Just take the dog and get a fecal done at the vet and get it wormed properly. Unless the dog is really infested you might not ever see them. Plus there are hookworms, whipworms, and tapeworms that OTC meds won't touch.

Roundworms will show up (especially in puppies who have a heavy infestation) as spaghetti looking longish strands. If you see little white things that look like rice, that is tapeworm segments. You can order a very safe and effective wormer online from Petmeds. The wormers you might purchase in the pet stores are often not as effective as an allwormer like Drontal plus. Your vet will also sell you wormers, but they may be more expensive than buying the same thing online. There is also a site called "The Equine Megastore" that is in Australia. They are about the lowest price I've found.
BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DOING YOUR OWN WORMING TO FOLLOW THE WEIGHT INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

Well, it doesn't necessarily look like anything. There can be vomiting and diarrhea. Sometimes worms are present in the feces. Just take a fecal sample to the vet, who will check for roundworms and other parasites.

Could it be ring worms? There will be patches of lost fur, and a scab on the skin. Ring worm is very contagious. You could end up with it yourself. You and the dog will need to be treated with a special salve.
