I own a shop, and jumping the pins is not an option in any vehicle newer than a 95. The only way you can do it is to get a code reader (scan tool) from a parts store. You can get one pretty cheap now, that will read, and clear the codes, but I would advise you to get a better one that can do some other stuff if you are going to be serious about it. OBD-2 began in 96 and to do it yourself, you have got to have a scan tool. This is all based on the United States, and the answers you are getting are from technicians inside the U.S. The truth is; you may be able to jump them out in your country, but I wouldn't try it unless you can confirm it to be a fact. See if you can get a book on your vehicle diagnostics. You will need it to help out with the code thing anyway.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

After OBD-2 became common to cars you will need an code reader. Available either from parts store or tool dealers. Some china made code readers cost less than 30 dollars. Just read the packaging to see it the reader also has what they call "freeze frame" Freeze Data recorded at the time the code first happened. Write that info down it helps technicians zero in on the problem

1996 and newer vehicles have the On Board Diagnostics II generation emissions system (OBD-II) which requires a code reader or scanner to read out the car's computer information. The best companies for inexpensive code readers and scanners are Actron, Auto-Xray and Sunpro (all owned by SPX corp). http://www.actron.com Actron is sold through many auto parts stores and auto parts websites. There is no longer a way to short pins and read out the codes as lamp flashes on your dash MIL lamp as there was for pre '96 OBD-I generation vehicles. The OBD-II diagnostic connector is located under the dash and steering wheel area. A "code reader" is cheaper and just displays the error codes, whereas a more expensive "scanner" displays live data from the sensors and ECU/ ECM computer.

Bahahaha. Your the only one who should know the code. Every Renault Megane have their own code for their stereo. If you can't find it written on your radio manual then your left with the option of going to your Renault Dealer to fix it for you. But I recommend just buying a new car stereo and installing it, stock radio's suck.
