Any cuts should be investigated by the vet, as there is no idea how the cat cut itself, you have to be aware of infection, which is very sore for the cat. I would suggest you do take your cat to the vet now, as if it does get infected then it will cost more money and pain for your cat.

Hi There :), I have four cats and they are always coming home with all sorts of scratches and cuts, were they have been 'hunting and fishing :)'. From what you describe, a visit to the vet's may be a little extreme - common sense suggests to do exactly what you have already done, wash the wound and treat with an antispectic spray, keep an eye on the wound for the next few days and if there are any signs of infection, swelling or redness then please pop kitty down to the vets for an antibiotic. Good luck, fingers crossed it's just a minor scratch :)

If this was your 3 year old child, would you take him to the doctor? Only you know haw bad the cut is.

If you dont and if the cat is willing, cut the fur around the area, and cover it. Keep the ointment on it and keep the wound clean.

If the area around the wound becomes red and swollen take it the the vet right away.

Pretend the cat is a small child that give the same respect.

It will heal on it's own.Just keep your eye on it for a few days. Its the licking of the wound that causes the problems. The bacteria gets in & it gets infected. Then you will need antibiotics. My dog gashed her front leg & it healed fine but it took a while because she wouldn't leave it alone. I bandaged it up eventually & it dried out enough for her to lose interest in it.You could put a plaster across it & keep your cat indoors for a day or two.She won't like it much, but its better than stitches.

you ought to take it to the vet yet when you're residing house then you may do a touch issues. even if that's oozing that's undesirable. It ability and an infection. i'd come across a dosage to grant your cat so discomfort is going away. Then take rubbing alcohol and gently dab it on with a fabrics. Your cat will yelp from this because it stings yet you want to get rid of as many germs as conceivable. next push a towel adversarial to it. both one in all this stuff will be complicated because the cat will squirm. attempt your astounding yet nevertheless take it to the vet it may well be a bullet (although i doubt it) this often is the purely thanks to be certain what to do on your puppy. wish that helped.

Cats can get infections through cuts and bites very easily, although you've managed to bathe it, I would still get it checked over at the vets though.

I would take teh cat to teh vet to have it checked. What caused this and what might be in it. I wouldn't take any cahnces take her to the vets and have it checked.
It should be cheaper now than to wait and see and have it get infected or whatever and end up with an emergency. I hope it's nothing but I sure wouldn't take any chances.
Good luck and hope all will be ok.

although cat wounds heal in no time, you have to make sure it is always clean until it's closed, I had this one of my cats before, the wound healed while it was infected and the infection has spread under the skin, it was nasty but we noticed it early enough to take care of it. so just keep it clean.

I would just wait and see - If we went to the doctors every time we cut ourselves then the NHS would be in more trouble that it is already - Kitty and her immune system should be able handle it themselves. Just keep checking on it - which i am sure you will anyway - don't need me telling ya!!

Hope she is alright - any bad signs take her the vet but for now I'd wait and see!!!
