A friend of mine bought a car from japan over the internet which cost him £2000, they had been very good at sending emails until one day he got an email saying they couldn't sell him the car as it had been under water and the bottom was starting to rust, they asked him if he would like another car or a refund, he decided to take a refund however he has not heard back from them and this has been two weeks now.....do you know of a way to get the money back??? the website of the company is http://www.cineaction.co.jp/japanese_used_cars/. Has any one heard of them??

I've said it before and I'll say it again, "Never, EVER buy a car from anyone, anywhere unless you can see it 'in the metal' first". Now you know why.

Buyers are constantly getting ripped off by sending money to people they have never met, for cars they don't even know exist...

Unless he's prepared to sue in a Japanese court, probably little if any chance of recovery.

£2000 to find he's stupid, cheap deal by the sounds of it, although I could have told him for £10

it sounds like a bogus deal... but he might try talking to a lawyer to hear his options.
