that they could have imagined people in 2007 would believe them? Virgin births, walking on water, and my favourite piece of fiction/fabrication of all times, who can forget the feeding the 5000! Does anyone actually believe any of these fairytales? Really?

hahahahahaha If a couple of million people do something it means it has to be true. The second quote was written by men who want fools like you to believe. It has come from your own propaganda filled promotional book.

Cheers :-)

What was seen as a miracle, could have been the lack of understanding of natural sciences. For example, the splitting and crossing of the red sea... reading the story, it seems they crossed over within a few hours, but how is that possible with a whole nation of people trekking through the sand with belongings and family, young and old.... Natural Geo and Disc Channel has shown that the Red Sea DOES somehow part and get shallow, and it takes a coupla weeks to resume its original state. It was the TIMING of the event, where the pharoah drowns, that makes it dramatic to a people who were nomadic and only a handful were able to read and write.

As time goes on... the re-telling of the story will definitely get exaggerated, where more facts are added and some facts a depleted. Just tell a tale or a joke to someone and have them tell the same joke to another person... the re-telling is similar but not necessarilly the same... or verbatim

I think that you have a point for example if someone like David Copperfield came along and stunned people with amazing feats of illusion then you could say there is really no way I believe in the guy but his tricks were cool and you would be justified in this.
However the coming of Christ was prophesied long before His birth, He fulfilled all that was written about Him, He preached a message never heard of before in Israel, He raised the dead and they remained alive so no illusions here, and finally gave His life for the salvation of the world.
If you believe this (and it has to be your own decision) then you have made a declaration of faith that will utterly change your life forever.
However if you choose to rant and deny this it will never go away and will always be a source of confusion and upset for you, why? because the truth will by it`s very nature always challenge us.

Yes. People believe them. Why? Couldn't tell you. I would understand if it was some isolated tribe on an island somewhere, but in the "1st" world? We have something called an education system but it goes unused, as do libraries and 90% of the useful information on the internet.

Well, if you repeat the story enough times, you eventually get to believe that its true.

Religion decided that the Earth was flat, and everyone believed them, until some idiot decided to look to the heavens, saw that almost everything else was round, and asked himself a question. Eventually it was proved that the world ALSO was round, and then Religion decided OK its round, but we also believe that......

And that (in a nutshell) is what the whole debate is about
