Many people make up their minds about God first, before witnessing miracles. Then when one seems to happen, they pick their favorite explanation.

I am 13 .. and a commited christian ... I am baptised and filled with the holy spirit! When my friend was upset I prayed with her on the school playground. We prayed for her 2 aunties to be healed of cancer.
After a week my friend told me that her 2 aunties had been checked by a doctor and there was no longer anything wrong with them!
They were both totally healed!
When you witness something amazing like that, you are gobsmacked but you know its not a conisidence! It's GOD ! The guy who made heaven and earth and the whole entire universe !

When people want to believe something they convince themselves it's true.
For that matter, why not fairies and unicorns and sun-rays made out of sugar?
I believe it's irresponsible to base your beliefs solely on what you've been told, or read in one book. It's better to take responsibility for your own life and the decisions you make, not to justify them with scripture. If there is a benevolent deity, they'll approve. If not, they're not benevolent.
Poor Debbie. You've got a whole life of lies to discover ahead of you. What a place to start from...

There are two ways of looking at the world.
Rational: Look at the evidence, then form and opinion.
Supernaturalist/Religious: Form an opinion then find evidence that you can twist into supporting it.
Some people do think that aliens are behind all of the miracles in human mythology. When there are enough of them, they will call it a religion.

Well, at least you're thinking...which is more than I can say for most of the people who believe in this "God" stuff.
I admit that it took me a long time to come to a decision about what I (didn't) believe in...in the face of my childhood indoctrination and upbringing.
As the Jesuits say - give me the child until he is 7 and we will give you the man.
