where I can find an original branding iron to brand my sisters cats. She's got three and sometimes they get out. They hate wearing collars, and look like "general" type cats so we need to be able to distinguish them. Where can I get a small cattle branding iron that I can use on them?

Ehhh... to the first three answers, that's why I was asking for a small branding Iron... Since their skin is thinner... I won't heat the Iron as hot as when I did my cattle, will that work?

I don't believe this is a serious question, because a person would have to be so bloody stupid to think they could use a branding iron (yes, even a small one) on a cat, and from your grasp of english you just don't sound retarded enough. I think you probably will have heard of microchipping.
A surprise for your sister - ha ha, very amusing. It'd be a great surprise for her to have all her cats barbecued and dying of agony!

wow... so it's come to branding hey? lol I have never heard such a stunt... and yes is quite inhumane. I'd be more worried about infection. Why not try contacting a local humane society and asking about options?!! If anything shave some hair off somewhere and permanent marker the poor things. Or get a flea collar and write names on them till you can find other ways. Or take some time to find unique things about each cat, jot it all down and add a picture just in case.
If you can afford it... I'd suggest getting a chip implanted in them. Its growing very popular and the chip is suppose to bring up a file on the cat and owner for a quick reuniting of each other if one does get lost... hopefully not the owner..haha. just kidding. But I'm glad you asked before you went ahead with the branding... it's really sweet that you would be willing to go through so much trouble for your sister.
umm have you though of maybe some hairdye..just a spot on the cat.. I know some things can be too expensive to get done by the vet (although I strongly recommend unless you have training) , but maybe you could call some pet stores or any place that deals with animals and see if they have any better suggestions for animals in your area... Do you live in a highly populated area? See I live on the country side and my suggestions might not be as effective for that area.
I hope everything works out... I had 5 cats... had to rid of 2, then just 3 weeks ago my girl cat had 4 kittens... and it can get hecktic since the kittens are starting to wonder around in small place of the house... I fear losing them too and not being able to find them.. 2 of them look exactly the same.. pure white, which its funny cuz the 2 I had adopted out before the kittens birth, well they were both pure whites also. lol ;)

I don't think it is Possible to brand a cat..Cat's are to little and Sensitive as compared to a Big Cow or Bull. Cattle's skin is alot Harder than a Cats skin. Cat's unlike cattle also have fur and im Pretty sure that if you branded a cat the fur would be damaged and wouldn't grow back in that area.

Yeah, because that's not animal cruelty.
You do know that cats have thin skin, and cattle have tough hide so that branding doesn't generally cause health problems, right? Doing this to a cat would hurt them even worse, and may cause numerous problems. Collars are the best bet, or not letting them outside at all.

They don't make branding irons for cats for a reason. You can have a vet tatoo inside of your cats ear. Don't they know their names when you call them?

There might be a better way and that is to have them injected with an ID chip and or have them wear a bright very lightweight flourescent color that is so lightweight it won't bother them and for extra measure have an ID tag attached to it.

I would not do this. One it is illegal... very and you can go to jail for it.
Two.. a cow and horses skin are different from a cats.. and you may go to deep very easily.. Please don't do this.. I hope it was just a joke.
