Do they get along well with other animals(especaily dogs in paticular)? Oh and if you have any sites or anything I can refer to, please do share and again THANK YOU SO MUCH!

The American Kennel Club has general characteristics information online. Training a dog not to bark can be accomplished to some degree of success with love, patience, and positive re-enforcement, but, dogs do bark for many reasons and some of them are instinctive. If you deprive an animal of it's instinctive behavior, it may develop a behavior that is much less desirable. I hope that helps...

My aunt used to have a Mini Schnauzer, and she was never a big barker, and certainly wasn't a yapper. From what I've read, Schnauzers don't really bark that much. Breeds that tend to be very, ah, VOCAL, are mostly toy breeds, notably Pomeranians and Yorkies. Of course, ANY dog, no matter what the breed, will bark excessively if they develop separation anxiety or are allowed to bark for no reason when they want attention.

Yes, I had a Schnauzer and she was exactly like that!!!! I never could make her stop barking when somebody came over or I was outside or something like that. It was a high pitched yepping bark that just ran right through me. She loved everybody and got along with other dogs. She just played rough. She always thought everybody came to see her and she just wanted them to pay her all the attention. She had a bad habit of standing up on everybody as to say "pick me up"! She was the best pet I ever had she was just full of energy!!!

It all depends on how the dog was bred, how much training time you put in, and the dog's personality. Just like us humans, some are more "talkative" than others :)
