Yea haha you must think your real funny. I'm not french in any way im just smart, France have fought in and won more wars that your United States. France also is credited with the second largest Empire in the world (Britain being the first). So you probably shouldn't bag out France just because of world war two, If the United states were in Europe it would have gone bad too.

After WW1 the French relied on a system known as the Maginot Line, built along the border between France & Belgium, the French were under the mistaken impression that their defences were impregnable.
In the area of the Ardennes Forest which covers the borders of Belgiun France and Germany, this heavily forrested area was thought to be impossible for an Army to traverese, German Tank troops including the famous Rommel found a way through the thick forests and attacked the French from the rear.
The French with fresh memories of the hundreds of thousands killed in WW1 and a lack of modern equipment surrendered very quickly after Marshal Petain ordered them not to resist.
A large percentage of French were ready and willing to accept life under the Germans, the Germans in turn allowed the French to rule their own area which became known as Vichy France. The Vichy French went into partnership with the Nazis.

The same way they took over Norway, Poland, Denmark, Holland, and most of the rest of the European countries!
Blitzkrieg !!! (rapidly advancing armored forces with massive air support)
France had the misfortune of being Germany's next-door-neighbor.
Since France was far from being the only country quickly conquered and occupied by the Nazi war machine, the term "surrender monkeys" is totally off the wall and historically incorrect.
