Same here. When I ask a really heavy question, I hardly get any good answers at all.

Maybe people think you're a really absurd person who's not to be taken seriously?
I've noticed alot of your questions are of the single sentence variety that call for all kinds of assumptions or non-answers.

Sometimes emotions get the best of people.... some questions push our buttons and we reply hurriedly. Sometimes those serious questions are way too serious and giving a wrong answer or an answer from our perspective which would be in conflict with the question asked would be inappropriate.

Perhaps because you stimulate their curiosity and imagination. Serious questions do sometimes get a lot of answers as well, but generally only a few good ones. Do you really want a lot of answers, or a few good ones?

Don't mistake quantity for quality.
Serious questions are more likely to get serious answers and those are the ones that actually have value.

Or, better yet when I ask a serious question I just get a bunch of insults from jerks with nothing better to do. Anyone else?

I've noticed that with my questions. Whenever I'm asking a serious question, I usually get lots of dumb replies.
