If your not willing to reduce caloric intake that much then to make up for that you have to exercise more. Just gradually build up your endurance for your runs and you will be going further and faster and be burning more and more.

There is nothing wrong with drinking beer, as long as you drink in moderation. Having binge weekends or going all out on occasions is what creates a beer gut. 2 beers a day should be just fine. Try to drink water after the beer, beer is a dehydrant and re-hydrating is very important especially if you want to get rid of any bloating feelings.

If beer is your main source of weight gain drinking a little less and moving a little more at your age should be enough to tip the scale back in the right direction.

You have to make a decision....42 and a beer belly and poor health or a healthy body and pleasant breath.
A healthy wife from the gym or a barfly who keeps flitting?

You're a good size, just turn the fat into muscle (remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so you'll gain). You look good muscular. My husband is 6"1, 220, mosly muscle, and he looks great. You don't want to be too skinny @ your height.

I cut out alcohol and red meat and lost 20 pounds. I am so happy I have. It's worth it IMO.
