Is it me or is it just incredible the amount of technology the US has..
We have jets that can out fly anti aircraft missiles, we have aircraft carriers that are longer than the empire state building is tall and can carry out an entire assault by itself, we have missiles that can take off in the Arctic ocean from a submarine, and pinpoint a target thousands of miles away, we have artillery that can be fired from mile behind the front lines and accurately eliminate the enemy.....
And the best part is, we have men and women ready to fight until the death to help protect their country.....
I must say, aside from all the Liberals who would rather see our military disbanded and re-direct the money to the homeless in some foreign country that will most likely attack us, We live in a great country...
I am proud to be an American, Happy Memorial DAY all you vets out there and all those that have served, war or not...
YOU ARE A BRAVE! Have a Great day monday!

It is true that we have the most powerful military this planet has ever known, and I can appreciate what you are proud of as well. But in recent years we have learned that all the money and all the technology isn't enough to fight the good fight. What it takes are men on the ground, with guns in their hands. We don't need all the expensive crap; that stuff is better spent somewhere else. What it take's to win is hearts and minds. And sadly enough we don't have enough to do the job in Iraq and Afghanistan. If we want to win we need to multiply our troops by ten, and quit messing around with the fancy toys that half the time don't work right.
But that's not going to happen. Why? Because the weapons industry makes rich and powerful people richer and more powerful. And these are the folks calling the shots.
If we plan on winning then let’s commit to it and win. But if we are going to play this game half ****** then let’s come home.
This war machine we have built looks tough, but where are the men? Where are the hearts and minds? Are we going to send a robot to do our fighting for us? Or are we going to have to start a draft again?
All the tech in the world don't mean s**t when people aren't behind it.
Look what happened in the USSR after the cold war ended; they had an amazing military, but when it was all over it just sat around and rusted or was sold off to mini-wars in the third-world.
There are much better things to do with our money; like build a real military, not a bunch of soulless devices. There's no honor in that; especially when they don't work right and a school is blown up instead of one of Saddam’s palaces.
You think with all that tech we would be able to find our three missing in action. We would if they were willing to pay for the GPS chips, but they would rather build a missile defense system in Eastern Europe. Do you remember the patriot anti missile missile? Well that didn’t work either and how much did we spend? With that kind of money we would know where our missing boys are today, but our values aren’t with the fighting men, it is on the shock and awe.

The notion of taking on the military is idealistic,at best. The firepower advantage the military has over the American public is staggering.Anyone that believes the semi-automatic "assault weapons" that the average,law-abiding citizen can lawfully own is the same as a fully automatic capable M4 military issue rifle doesn't really have knowledge of firearms in general. The idea that the 2nd Amendment is about hunting is also wrong.Nowhere does it mention or even imply that arms are only to be used for hunting,or as some seem to think, hunting waterfowl. Our country has turned into the global protector for the U.N. and while I would like other countries to protect themselves or at least pay for their protection, the sad fact is that our country saddles the American people with the cost.Liberals suggest cutting the military budget without seeming to seek out the fraud and/or waste in the budget. They (liberals) also get up in arms when conservatives suggest cutting social welfare programs for the same reason. If the amount of waste and fraud in all those programs were found and cut, there would be no complaint from either side. Why is it that some think police are well-trained in the use of firearms and should be exempt from the same type bans as the public? How often do you think the average cop practices at a shooting range? And how often does a cop actually fire his weapon in the line of duty?A news story today said that a woman in Georgia shot an intruder while she waited for police to arrive,The 911 recording(while waiting for police to arrive)lasted about 10 minutes, she also was on the phone with her husband, who reminded her of what she had been shown at the range. The woman said she fired until her gun was empty. It is still unknown whether the intruder will survive.Had she not been trained and practiced with that firearm,it could have turned out much differently. How often is it that the police interrupt that crime in progress? "Assault Rifle".Give me some examples of what makes it an assault rifle.Specific make, model and caliber. If you make the claim that they are capable of firing hundreds of rounds in seconds or even minutes, list the rate of fire the maker says it can produce.A cosmetic change does not turn a semi-automatic rifle into a full auto capable military equivalent rifle.

A big THANKS from this American to all who serve and have served this country to keep me free. I can sleep at night without being pulled out of bed and tortured.I can complain about the government if I like without fear.I can practice any religion I choose. And some all they know how to do is say how evil America is? All I can say is next time you need help, remember your words and don't call us.

Yeah, isn't it great that 'merica has all those fancy expensive weapons while approximately 18,000 Americans die each year because they can't afford health insurance?
A big raspberry for all those poo-poo liberals who ruin this otherwise fantabulous country with their dislike of our super advanced weapons! I betcha that when the United States invents a real Death Star and calls it "Freedom 1", liberals will just whine and whine and whine, instead of thanking the infantry who fight, while the children of well-off Republicans go to college.

Technology is all fine and dandy, but it's our hard working boys and girls that make that cool stuff work.
Thanks to all our service members, active, reserve, and retired. You have made a difference, and you will not be forgotten.

Rock On! Our weapons are great, but heed this advice;
" To be a successful Soldier you must know history....What you must know is how man reacts. Weapons change but the man who uses them changes not at all. To win battles you do not beat weapons- You beat the soul of man, of the enemy man." - Gen. George S. Patton

And all that only takes over 50% of the U.S. budget...yay! On the bright side, China will never attack us since they would be destroying their own property.
FYI: I was lucky to serve during the Reagan years with $600 dollar hammers and such.

Amazing that the USA cannot subdue two defenseless 3rd world countries like Iraq and Afghanistan.
Memorial Day is a sad day when we mourn the soldiers who never became veterans.
