In First Kings God also said that Pi = 3, so maybe He didn't understand what the scientific method was. But let's not blame God too much for his weakness in science, not having anyone exist before Him, He was obviously the product of faith-based home schooling.

Because Scientific Method is not something religious people believe in. It disproves everything they believe. You will never see a religious person use the scientific method to explain anything about religion. Science and logic do not go with religion at all.

Science at its best only answers the "how" and not the "why." And given the amount of controversy within the scientific community it doesn't even do that well.
