Didn't God promise he'd never flood the Earth again? Isn't that the reason for the rainbow?

Not having a go, but I think you're off the mark, for a couple of reasons, like the first person who answered said, the promise was that there wouldn't be another flood, and two, the flood story actually dates back to the Sumerian "Epic of Gilgamesh" and even further to Akkadian legend.

rainbows are caused by the diffraction of light
if god created rainbows AFTER the flood, then he must have only created light then too, since its what makes light light.
so give that contradiction... im sorry to burst your bubble - but way of the mark! xD

I doubt it. Here's why:
1: The real Noah didn't take 2 of every single animal in the world, that's nonsense. He took 2 of every animal in the KNOWN world at the time.
2: Noah was busted for selling crack last week. I doubt he'll be building anything for a very long time. Except maybe license plates.

Can we please not mix science and fictional stories please. If the ice caps melt the only place of safety will be outer space not a wooden ship. That is the reason scientists are trying to locate water on mars or build large capacity spacestations, and not super boats.
The rainbow is not because of god whoever said that, and there is cold hard proof that you can't dispute. It is due to the refraction of light
