or is it maybe just a diffrent law between USA and Australia? Because you guys mention all these bizarre ingredients that on a Pedigree Can in Australia just arent there.
Could that be that we get a different one over here?

Pedigree is what is classed as a supermarket food here in Australia and basically is the lowest form of pet food on the market. It is like comparing McDonald's to a healthy diet.
Laws here in Australia means that the company does not have to disclose exactly what is in their food. Note on the website they say Meat including chicken, beef, pork and lamb but they never say exactly what meat is in that can you are holding and if they are using actual meat or meat by-products such as chicken feet, hooves, beaks, etc.

If you possibly can, please upgrade the food you feed your dog to a premium brand food like Eukanuba, Iams or Science DIet. At least head over to their website (http://www.eukanuba.com.au) and look at the ingredients in their food and compare them to Pedigree. Premium brand foods MUST specify exactly what kind of meat and meat-by products are used in their foods. The meat used must be human grade.

I've wondered that too, but I haven't actually discovered the answer because I already know I wouldn't trust Pedigree from any country. What one poster said about it being junk food is right. I would also suggest something like Hills.

OK I know everyone says Pedigree is "junk food", but my dog is 11 years old and has eaten Pedigree all his life, and is very healthy. It's all a matter of opinion. And you know what they say about opinions.....................

Looks like your laws and rules when it comes to listing dogfood ingredients aren't as strict.. They are very vague on your dogfoods.. Listing only ' preservatives ' rather than the awful preservatives used..
