I can't really think of what to buy. .
I have a pet dog (mixed japanese spitz and poodle), she's been infested with ticks and fleas, and there are also ticks and fleas ALL OVER our house (bed sheets, floor, drawers, sofas, etc), we have another dog that has also been infested but not that much since he's outside and my pet is inside, we have a new dog, siberian husky and i'm afraid he'll get infested too.
So what will i use?
Another question about frontline spray, what if i just sprayed my pet and then she licks her fur, will it be bad?

Aside from the bombing and the like, what is the best frontline product for my pets since we have 'severe' infestation? I'm choosing among the three. .

First you need to get some cap star, it will start killing the fleas on a dog or cat in 30 minutes. You need to get ortho home defense spray, and spray your entire house, then get front line plus for the back of the neck, all will be well, good luck.

I would first give the effected dogs and flea bath, after you sprayed the house with a good flea killer, (spraying the house and killing the fleas may take up to a month or more to completely get rid of them) with my experience. After spraying the house, then bathe the dogs with a good flea & tick shampoo. Let it soak it for about 5 minutes then rinse. Then put the frontline on them. The liquid form is good. Put it between the shoulder blades and rub into the skin. My animals vet told me that if I had more than one animal, then a spray would be more econimal to use. Keep treating your dogs with Frontline every month. Also keep spraying Flea & Tick everywhere all the time. If it is bad, and depending on how big your house is, it may take up to 5 cans of Spray over the next couple of months. Rather or not your new siberian husky might be infested, I would go ahead and put the Frontline on him too. The Frontline won't hurt your dog if he or she licks their fur. This stuff was made for animals. Frontline is usually placed behind their neck between the shoulder blades and rubbed in so the dog can't lick it.

Amanda - You should not use them together. The dose will be too strong. Frontline spray kills existing fleas and ticks quick and effective. So you can spray the infested animal. When the dog is clear with no visual fleas and ticks, u can spray the dog regularly / use Frontline spot-on on monthly basis / or use a good flea collar as a preventive measure for future infestation. Frontline Spot-on is less messy but spray is cheaper. I personally use spray every time after bathing my dog.

Frontline Plus kills ticks and fleas within 24 hours. It also kills flea eggs so it protects the environment too.
Frontline spray kills fleas and ticks quicker as you do not have to wait for the product to spread through the skin - it kills on contact. It is messy though and has been superceded by spot-ons.
I would put Frontline spray on your dog if there's a severe infestation, to kill everything on him as quick as possible. You also need a spray from the vets for your house - treat the carpet, the furniture, everything. You might need to treat the house a couple of times, vacuuming in between. Once you've got rid of this infestation you can use Frontline Plus every 6 weeks on all your animals to treat them and the environment.

The topspot Frontline product is the best.
If your house is infested, go to the laundry detergent section of the store and buy borax soap. It's a type of laundry detergent. Sprinkle it all over your carpets and furniture. Leave it for 2 days. It will kill all the fleas. In 10 days there may be some more eggs that hatch if there wasn't enough borax left. Do the same thing. Always throw away the vacuum bag after you vacuum so the eggs will not hatch and reinfect your home. You can also treat the yard with borax. It will take several boxes, but it's cheaper than bombs and works better. Wash your dog's bedding in borax and dry it in a hot dryer.

In dogs I prefer the Frontline spray over the spot applied version. We live in Florida and the fleas here are viscious. One of my dogs was very allergic to fleas, would literally chew spots bald; I had him on Advantage and prednisone for a long time. I put him on the Frontline spray and within a month had him off the prednisone and all of his hair was back. As long as I was faithful with it (about every two to three months application) his flea allergies were a thing of the past. Good luck!
P>S> The Frontline spray is not made to go into the skin, the way it works is it penetrates into the follicle of the hairshaft and is slowly released over time. I SWEAR by the spray over the spot application type on dogs. It lasts longer too. The spray is also the product Frontline reps recommend for severe flea infestations... if in doubt, check it out!

I would go with the frontline plus. The spray is good, too, but it's hard to get it on the skin. The frontline plus will do more work and probably have a longer lasting effect.
As far as treating the environment, I would go to someplace that specializes in pest control and ask what they recommend. Make sure to find out what the restrictions are regarding your pets. They may have to be kept out of the area for some time. Follow up what the sales people tell you by reading the product instructions, yourself, too. They are only human and may leave out something important.
One mistake people make when treating for ticks is not to treat high up enough off the ground. Ticks usually get on a dog by falling from a tree, so make sure you don't just focus on the grass.
If your problem is severe, it may even be worth it to hire an expert. Good Luck.
Edit: Please get your dogs vaccinated for Lyme's disease, if they are not already. It is spread by ticks and there are obviously ticks in your environment.
You may also give your dogs a 1mg per pound dose of bendryl, every 12 hours, to help alleviate their itching sensations a bit. (if you have dogs that weigh over 50 lbs, just give them a 50mg dose...it's usually not necessary to exceed that amount) It won't cure the problem, but it will help sooth them while you get things under control.

FRONTLINE WORKS ... Two weeks ago within 36 hours I pulled 18 brown ticks off my dog,our favorite field overgrew with spring rains typically I get one or two a week (we are out there daily) we had a vet visit for her shots and the frontline went on , for 3 days we let itsoak in if you will avoiding one area of tall grass, the last two days we have been there and while brushing her prior to leaving the park,.found1 dead tick on her.....put them both on frontline, fog the house with a good product if your planning a trip do it on the weekend do it and leave the house closed up tite.... continue the frontline on the outside dog, Infestations are an abuse form if not delt with, and the worst case senerio , is the infest your home... use the drops along the shoulders where she cant get it and it sinks into her skin and it does work.... spray only lasts till she licks it or it rains or it drys up, or she goes swimming ... the drops dont wash away once its dryed
