it's difficult to rhyme, and i want to write my wife a poem to make her feel better about our daughter.

My daughter was recommended by her doctor to drink a small glass of wine when she got stressed, because of the trauma her husband has been putting her through, so I guess there is a half way point somewhere. My mom was a drunk when she was pregnant with me, and I don't have a alcohol problem, or a drug problem, but I do smoke a pack of cigs a day. Should I blame her for that?

The words "fetal alcohol syndrome" and a poem to make her feel better are at polar opposites. You can substitute "difficulties" or some other benign word without using the whole phrase. She might feel bad about drinking during pregnancy, so don't go there.

i'm sorry, yet your pal is misinformed. Fetal Alcohol syndrome can in basic terms happen while a mom who's wearing a baby consumes a greater that consumer-friendly quantity of alcohol in the process the time the child is in progression. there is not any way the syndrome may well be handed on from the father.

I call it "FAS"

I like for it to mean: "Forgot About Someone" ....as it is very true.

I don't condone any illegal or abused substances.

I don't think a person should "feel better" of what they have negatively done. I think they should learn from their actions and make sure they are now a better parent than they were.

"Even though our daughter is FAS. We are thankful we have her, as we are blessed".

Most people commonly use FAS (said "ef ai es") which rhymes with bless etc. While I cannot condone allowing a child to be harmed by the actions of the parents, it is good that you are trying to help your family be healthy emotionally and deal with it.
