I had a cat that would run to the front door to greet me when I came home (like a dog). We timed it out and found that wherever he was at in the house, he would run to the front door when I turned onto our street over a half mile away from the house, and around a corner. No way he could hear or see me, and I didn't come home at the same time ever. He knew when I was getting close though!

I keep him on a schedule with his canned food, because otherwise he would eat every three or four hours. I feed him half a can at 8:30 every night. It is only meant as a treat, not as a meal. I keep dry food down for him at all times. Lately, I'd say for about the past month, he has started asking for his canned food at 5:30. Sometimes earlier. He doesn't shut up until he gets his food at 8:30. I refuse to give it to him earlier. But he still tries to get it. He uses his entire vocabulary from demanding to pitiful and tries every look he knows, moves his ceramic bowl all over the floor, and then tries to sucker me by loving me. Tonight, he started something new. He started talking to the refrigerator, because he knows that's where we keep the open cans. It's hilarious. We laugh and tell him "No, it's not time." and he goes and pouts for about twenty seconds, thinks about it and starts all over again, using a different tack. this is constant for about 3 hours. Finally 8:30 rolls around and he gets fed. We don't hear another peep...I mean meow... out of him all night!

I had a cat for nearly 20 years and she had this wonderful habit...

Have you ever heard the special cry a mother cat makes when she's returning to her babies after hunting? She has the 'kill' in her mouth and she makes a special call that lets the kittens know it's safe to come out and eat. It's very loud...

My cat Cozy lived indoors all her life (which is why she lived to be nearly 20!) and she must have had strong mothering instincts. Almost every day she would 'hunt' the foam rubber balls I kept around the house. She would carry one in her mouth and come find me -- using that special cry. She was bringing me her kill!

As I said, the cry is VERY loud and if she decided to go 'hunting' in the middle of the night, you could forget about sleeping! But she never cried very long and I thought it was adorable that she wanted to 'feed' me so I never minded.

Also, sometimes she would gather up ALL the foam rubber balls and put them into her bed -- and sit on them. My boyfriend said it looked like she was trying to hatch eggs!

She was a very special cat, my Cozy.

I have 3 cats, and each with their own personalities.
All 3 will run to the door when my husband comes home. It's like little guard cats, that can sense when he pulls up.
One cat, actually caught a fly in the air, and trapped it under his paw. He also did the same thing once with a spider.
And one will give me a kiss on the nose when i ask for it.

The other day, my cat Kaffe woke up from his afternoon nap which he takes in my room. I always close the door so he will remain undisturbed. I was busy in the kitchen so I did not hear his usual "meow-meow 'let me out now'". He must have got frustrated, jumped on my desk and turned on the radio! Of course I heard it becuase the volume was set to play CD's (it was loud). I stopped what I was doing, listened for a while and realized that the sound was a radio and it was coming from my room. I opened the bedroom door and there was my cat sitting on my desk beside the desk stereo. He looked up at me, and screamed, "meeeow - wow" ("where the heck have you been?"). It floored me. :)

My Lucy carries everything around in her mouth. She has a thing for tealite candles..she picks them up by the wicks while I'm sleeping and brings them all in the bed with me so I wake up surrounded by candles. Good thing she has no opposable thumbs to flick the bic or I'd be in serious trouble!

Also..she fetches with her mini mice! She plays "pull" like a dog..of course she prefers to play pull with my $50.00 stuffed Morgan dog replica I got from eBay and she ripped his neck open..but..hey..it's HER toy now! It's not a small stuffed dog..but she picks it up and shakes it around and growls! Throws it down and pounces on it. When I press the squeeker in his nose she comes running for fun and games!

She also has this strange love for bread..I can't leave any bread out or she'll get to it..rip open the bag and snag a slice..one night I was in the living room and I forgot a half of loaf of bread on the counter..Lucy jumped up there...picked up the loaf of bread..brought it into the living room where I was and placed it on the floor in front of her..I snagged it just before she lunged to rip open the bag! I still can't believe she carried that huge half a loaf in her mouth with no problems!

She's also facinated with water..whether it's the bathroom faucet, toilet or the shower..she HAS to be there when there is water running and get into the action. She also comes running every time I use the ice dispenser on the fridge hoping for a cube of her own..I have to give her a cube every time so she can play with it.

Also...she sniffs everything like a dog does..she even makes the loud sniffy noise like a dog..she even sniffs people when they come over!

My other cat.. Ethel..she drinks by dipping her paw and licking the water off of her paw instead of just drinking. She also chatters at the birds when she's in the window.

Lucy is the comic in the house though.

Well, my cat always headbutts me and shoves her nose in my ear! Also she can't meow lol it's soo funny because so goes to meow but no sound comes out lol if she's lucky she'll get a tiny murmmer but that's it. And when I'm playing the piano she comes and sits right infront of me on the keys with her face in my face. It's annoying when I'm trying to practice. Haha.

My kitty is just 3 months and can't jump onto the top of the dresser yet.
So I opened a drawer to make it easier for her to climb up.
She goes in the drawer, climbs over the back of it, climbs in the next drawer beside it and sleeps there.
It is her favorite spot to go when she wants piece.
She used to live with a family who had young children, so I assume she does this so she is not bothered.

I have a cat who sucks her paw and she has done so since she was 3 months old and is now 7. It is so funny to see her do this.

Every time we left the kitchen my old cat would jump onto the counter and eat the butter. Every time he got up and started eating the butter we had to replace the stick of butter we had been using. We went through a lot of butter when we had him.
