I believe the over the counter acne medications, bars and cremes are too harsh. Here is the best solution for acne. If it fails, you need to see a dermotolagist.
Wash your face morning, if possible afternoon, and night. Keep your pillow case clean too, always change weekly. I use Dove soap. It's awesome for acne and won't dry out your skin. Also use a small amount of Cetaphil moisturizer after you've washed your face. The reason for this is washing can dry your face out enough that it will actually make your pores produce more oil to compensate. Cetaphil is highly recommended by dermatolagist. For any zits you have , purchase Tee Tree Oil (available at Walmart and drugstores and Healthfood stores. Apply directly to the zits. It will clear them up very quickly. The rubbing of your face is really bad, you are irritating your skin and spreading germs. Keep your hands off your face. I think you'll see a vast improvement very quickly with this ritual. Here's to great skin!

Well, it could be just me cause everyone is different. What I do is I just wash my hands with soap so that they're clean... and I then splash water and rub off my face til I can tell it's no longer slick, but it starts to get that rubbery feel. Then i dry well with a towel because even though oil and water don't mix, its possible to get the oil off the surface of your skin with just warm water. Soap dries your skin out and I wouldn't recommend it. It could be I just don't have acne problems, or it might actually work. Works for me though. If that's not enough.. i recommend witch hazel.

unsure of how the oil absorbs the water, it usually repels it. but i have tried the proactive solution and love it.
