Yes it is true. Pay is good, work is hard, very stressful. The school is difficult and requires lots of work. But, the opportunities do exist as there is a shortage of good nurses. Why? Because of hard work, the stress, etc.

Very wide open. Nurses have to study hard,work hard, work in shifts and accept some gender discrimination .In armed forces nursing officers are not saluted by privates.

Yes, it is true. The current medium age of nurses is over 40 years old and the shortage is climbing. However, it is one of the most stressful environment and career for a human being.

Pretty much, yes. Nurses are desperately needed almost everywhere. It's hard work and sometimes long hours and very few pats in the back. But if you enjoy working with people and helping them, you might enjoy it.
