Every dinner read a passage from the bible, and teach them to pray. Show that you really care about your girlfriends kids, and give examples on how wonderful God is. For instance, I will tell you my incident. I had a terrible father when I was younger as well. I was mentally abused by him, but when my mom left him and met my stepfather things changed a lot. I remember seeing his phone number on a table. I grabbed it and put it in the envelope, and put to God I want a real father. God answered my prayer my step father IS my father. Maybe you can say something like this. "God gave me so many wonderful things in life, brought me to you, and my daughter." Really show you care they have to see God through you. Also, go to church as a family. Have them go to Sunday school and join in family activities through the church. That way they have more friends like a family to fall back on. Get a children's bible too. Also on Sundays do family activities like arts and crafts, singing songs, and reading stories about God. Like Noah's ark, and Adam and Eve. Those where my favorite when I was a child. But most importantly tell them that God loved us so much he sent his son Jesus Christ, and that Jesus loved us so much he died for us on a cross. I wish you the best of luck. My prayers are for you and your new family.

I have a nine year old myself and what i do with her is read the stories from the bible for her... just to give her a taste of the word and maybe even a desire for it. I especially love reading to them from Mark Chapter 10 of how the Lord Jesus, took such tender time to be with the children.. where he even rebuked the disciples for trying to send the children away... saying that of such is the kingdom of the heavens.
He then proceeded to fervently pray for them.
More than even us.. as parents.. who love our children so much.. the Lord has a heart for children that we will never be able to understand. He loved and died for each one and throughtout the bible.. He would make a way to touch or heal or deliver a child. I believe as a parent, after giving birth to our kids.. giving them an opportunity to know of the Lord Jesus is the next best gift that we can offer to them.
May the Lord bless all of the parents on here who look to the Lord to raise our kids who are His heritage
Peace and grace to u.

Take them to Sunday School. Most Church's offer it for kids age 3 or 4 through adult. It's free in most Church's.There are a lot of kids level Bible story books. Begin praying out loud before meals and at bed time Living by example goes a long way too.

Teach them to pray, memorize and read the Bible. I home schooled my kids till 4th grade. We had Christian curriculum. Before we even starting homeschooling I taught them memory verses. They had the Bible in pictures for little eyes. It's a childrens Bible that had a tape that went with it. They loved it so much that they liked to go to sleep with the tape on. We also had a lot of Christian childrens movies and music. Church is very important for children. As they got older we went to Christian music concerts. They are grown now, and we still go to church together.

J: Best thing is to take them to a church which has a Sunday school program. Most of us attended Sunday School as children. Some quit going or believing in God at a young age say, 10 or 12 yrs of age. They, then, go through life assuming God is the way they thought He was at the young age when they quit believing in Him - an immature concept of God.

First I started by taking my kids to church from day 1. Then I got our old family Bible. This Bible first starts with the Creation. Then it goes all the way thru every imaginable Bible story there is. Then it goes on to the Old Testament and then on to the New Testament. I answered all their question and kept them in Church. May God Bless U.

I tell to my kids, that I am just their biological father. Our real Father is in heaven, the source of all life. Since we are His children, He surely love us very much, Just like me. I will protect you and give everything you need as humanly as possible, How much more our Father in heaven?
Seek first His kingdom and righteousness and you will be succesful and your dreams will come true.

you'd be doing her a favor keeping her open-minded as long as you can. Let her figure it out when she's older.
IF you really want to push Jesus on them, read them the good parts of the Bible. Ignore the literalism and the killings and stuff in the OT, focus on Jesus' morality.
