Cold water. Lotion, And aloe vera

Well, for sunburns, most people use those specific ointments (usually they say 'aloe vera' on the front) to help with itching. DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE. To prevent the pain and/or itching, these products have lidocaine in them or other similar pain relievers, but these medications dry out your skin even more. Buy a regular aloe plant and snap a piece off and put the juice on your face. Leave it on until it dries and then splash water on your face until all of it is gone. (Don't use a wet washcloth or anything, because that can tear loose the skin) Avoid using any makeup, and don't apply lotion to your face unless it is coco butter lotion. Some peeling may still occur, but for the most part, there's not much you can do to avoid that. The peeling is just a result of your skin remairing the damage it received from the sun.

Get an aloe vera gel or lotion right away, or if you can find an actual aloe vera plant, that would be best. If you break off a piece of the plant and split it down the middle, a green-clearish gel will come out, and apply that to the sunburn. If you can't find a plant, get a gel or lotion from the store with a very high concentration. I like Banana Boat's After Sun Gel. You can find it at any drugstore. Use lots and often.

Noxzema! Just slather it up and let it absorb...don't rub it in. I know it sounds funny but Noxzema is great for sunburns and it actually feels great when you put it one, because it's got menthol it will feel cooling and moisturizing. If you have to leave the house then put a light coat on and try not to let the sun directly hit your face...that way the Noxzema won't dry out and the heat from the sun won't 'heat up' your burn.

**Don't put Aloe or lotion on it until it starts to heal a little...because Aloe will dry it out and won't stay moist. And I wouldn't put anything but coco butter lotion on if that's all you have because lotions are made to be absorbed into your skin. You want something that sits on top and will protect your fragile skin. If you have some time alone- put a lot of Noxzema on and cover your face with a cool wet towel. That will also make it feel better.

Nothing really, it's a burn just like if you burn your finger on the stove. The skin is dead and has to peel off. Keep aloe on the burn, and wear sunscreen in the future!

Try aloe gel. If you had used aloe as soon as you burned, it would not have blistered and would have stopped burning right away.

My advice to you is take vitamins C, E, and zinc to help the healing, and don't get burned again, because sun damage is cumulative.
