Is it possible we're already in hell? I mean that quite literally too. Look at the world. Maybe most of us have it pretty good, but this planet is by far and large a giant crapfest!

What if judgement day came and went around 2000 years ago? After all, Christ's return was supposed to be quick.

And everyone still "here" is being forced to go through punishments of God's choosing.

Sooner or later, we'll all die a horrible death. Could it be that when we die, instead of rotting in the ground or burning in lake of fire, we just come back to this craphole for another round? And it never ends!

Could it be? prolly not... but oh well.

NO, not all all! Religious cults claim heaven and hell is what you make it while you are alive.

"What if judgement day came and went around 2000 years ago? After all, Christ's return was supposed to be quick." Man, who has been leading you on to think of this stuff?

What don't you get yourself a King James Bible and read it and find out for yourself?

Considering some of the comments I'm reading here, ask yourself this, if there is no hell or lake of fire, then what is Christ Jesus trying to save us from?

Hahaha.

Well, I don't think that God inflicts punishment, for starters. I think it's self-inflicted because we have that within us which will always want to be pure and good and divine. If we go against that, we create our own suffering (ie hell).

But I think you're not far wrong about earth being hell. I think this is as bad as things get.... so it's only up from here!

The only sad thing would be dying, and realising how much we did not do while in our mortal state - all the opporuntities for learning and growth that we wasted, etc. That would be a kind of "hell" to be left behind in a quagmire of self-inflicted darkness, while more enlightened souls go on ahead to joy everlasting.

It's possible, I suppose. Although I will disagree for 2 reasons:

1.) Some people lead happy, fulfilling lives. Hell is supposed to be a very horrible place for everybody. If people are able to lead happy lives, then what's so bad about it?

2.) The Bible doesn't really mention this, so I'm only speculating, but I assume that in the Christian afterlife, you're able to remember your life. So if this was Hell, we'd be able to remember what we did to get here.

Although I could be wrong.

No this is just a fantasy and not the truth .... do you have proof of it ?
The description of hell in my faith (islam) is of a proper place differnt from this world, and its description is given in much details and its not like this.
there will be a Day of Judgement when the Whole World and earth will come to an end ... there will be a time when everyone will be collected in one ground, and everyone`s accounts of their deeds will be done. and then people will go to their respective places in hell or heaven.
No one is given second chances to come back to this world..... otherwise the whole world would be paradise, not hell .... if they have already died, and known their mistakes they should come back and improve the world.

Your fantasy is so untrue.

NO, this is not hell, even as bad as it is, but we get a glimpse here of what hell will be like only chaos and strive and pain and degradtion of every kind. This is what is with those who wont follow Jesus.
Judgment day didnt comeyet, but it is coming very soon The final shaking is going on right now to see who is truly Gods and who isnt. We are either fully HIs or we arent His at all.
You asekd about when we die Well we dont get to come back. But, we either go to Heaven with Jesus or we go to Hell . No turning back once we die or when Jesus comes, whichever comes first. He is coming soon, and we need to deciede now today if we are fully Gods or not His at all. Takes more than believing in Jesus. we msut obey Him and desire to be like Him. Even the devil believes, that is not enuff.
and when one goes to hell, God hasnt punished them. God gives us all choices, and we CHOOSE who we follow God or the devil. If we end up in hell, we did it to ourselves. So why blame God for it. We leave HIm no choice but to deal with the rebellious sinners who wont give it up. If not, what would HE do, let the evil go to heaven with Gods true ppl? Wouldnt stay heaven long, huh? they would make it just like they make it here now. Filth, degradtion, hate, murder, rape, incest, drugs, alcohol, pornography, torture, you name it. God must do something with them to protect those that are really His but, every person on this earth has a choice, and cant later blame God for that choice.
SEek God andyou will find Him. anytime we sin, we hurt ourselves and other around us and make this society stiay so full of awful things. BUt, if we all followed Jesus, we would have wonderful place to live, and it would be only love.
So, if you arent happy with this life, look around you and ask are you following Jesus. Are you part of the problem or the solution. HMMMMMMM?

This is a theory used by some religions. Jehova's Witness do think this is the closest thing to hell we will face.
I do not think so. It is a personal belief. I just do not believe that God would allow us to return, nor be placed in hell first before going to heaven. You will have to be judged according to your value of worth here. Then, you will be either cast off into the firey pit or you will be allowed through the pearly gates!

we are right here to handle annoying circumstances. Earth could to boot be referred to as annoying circumstances R' Us. We do go through , and we do seek for romance, peace, happiness. we can settle for crumbs of it, inbetween the annoying circumstances. some are born without customary physique, yet they excel with their minds and imaginative and prescient. some go through in great discomfort from bizzare ailments, each and every minute of each and every long day. some are addicted to the crap served up right here in the international. some could desire to triumph over character defects on a daily basis, to handle society. we've people who prefer to have ability, and administration, and that they like to run the completed u . s . we live in. in the event that they make blunders, all of us go through. Its a venture to stand up and alter something run via useful human beings. We made them useful, and we could desire to take it far off from them, and be useful to make those differences. each and every so often we lack that ability interior to make an important substitute. So this planet and existence is relatively a troublesome interest, a combat, a conflict, and a place far off from our real living house. Why did you come right here? What replaced into your reason to be right here? Hell isn't right here. think of being caught in the international with the worst human beings in history, FOR EVER. That- is hell.

In one sense you are either in the kingdom of God or a type of hell right now.
2Sa 22:6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

Read all of 2 sa.

But when ever our time comes and we leave these bodies it will be a different realm then the one we know now. And a different place.

read all of luk 16.
Luk 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

Life on this Earth can be hell.... but it can also be heavenly. It's a matter of perspective IMO.
I don't believe my life problems are a punishment from G-d... they are crappy things that happen.. some of them are consquences of my own behavior.
Some people died a horrible death.... some go peacefully.. the only fact about is that we do die. Live your life doing what you think is right, just and moral... at least you can have inner peace. :)

As some people claim to remember past lives, this is a possible event that could happen, and the relationships in similarity between babies and the elderly seem to confirm this. Once you die, you are reborn as a baby and continue a new life. This poses interesting questions on its own, however. For example, assuming you had led a past life, would you have left something behind for your next life to find? How would you find it? Until science progresses to this point, views of what happens mentally after death are controversial, but a fun subject to tackle for the intelligent mind.
