we have a privacy fence that goes around the whole back yard. Today they called the cops because my dog dug a hole in MY part of the yard by the fence.

it actually has absolutely nothing to do with loud music or anything like that. It's usually things about my dogs. They are doing nothing illegal or to them. They have pets too, but I guess hate mine. We just bought this house 6 months ago.

there is RARELY no one home at my house. Yes, my dog does bark.....when there dog is running unleashed up and down my fence line. My dog rarely goes near the fence unless they let theirs out. I know this because my three children, my husband, and I spend a lot of time outdoors. The police have said only that they would like to get whatever issue there is between us resolved. They have already gotten one dog taken away from us because they kept falsely accussing him of beiong viscious. One time they claimed it was my dog that attacked a child, when he was in the house with me at the time. I was forced to find a home for him out of the city limits or he would be put to sleep in ten days if I didn't. The complaints mainly have to do with my dogs because I guess they can't find any other reason to complain about us!

First you need to ask the police who come if there was anything valid to the complaint. Most likely not but your idea of dumb stuff and the what is a valid complaint may be two different things.

If the cops say there is no valid reason for the complaint, ask the cops to talk to the person and stop wasting the cops time. POLITELY explain to the cops that you really do not want to keep wasting their time and this problem is ongoing, and it may save them needless calls if they would talk to the person. This way you are being civic minded and the cops will know you really do not want to wase their time. After a few calls from this person and each time you request nicely for them to intervene they will document it all and if nothing else raise the problem to the next level with their boss.

Remember police have to respond to a complaint, just in case it is for real, this protects them and the public.

I wouldn't move that's absurd.

Maybe try talking to your neighbor and ask them straight up why they feel the need to call the police on you all the time. Tell them if they have a problem to come to you first.

If something like that is ineffective, I would call the police station - non-emergency number - and ask them what you can do legally with a neighbor who is spying on you all the time, or harassing you by always having police sent to your house. The station has records of every time an officer was out there or was asked to come there, and would be able to see how petty these complaints are. In some states, you can file complaints or do something else to get back at the neighbor legally - even if it means just having a small restraining order against them. That should get their attention and get them off your back!

I had a neighbor that called the police on me all the time for petty stuff, finally we put up a privacy fence going all from the back of our property to the street so the neighbors could no longer see our house or yard, that helped. Or start calling the police on them, file a harrassment report.

Do your dogs bark? Do you know they don't bark when you're not home? I'd throw a HUGE fit if a neighbors dog dug a hole at the fence. It may have been in your yard, but do you think he was gonna stop there? Think the dog knows about property lines? You have to do something because your dog could end up dead if he gets into their yard.

**You must keep your dog from digging by the fence. He's trying to get to their yard. I'm telling you, if he gets over there he'll end up dead. I know he would end up at the pound if he dug under a fence into my yard. Their dog doesn't have to be leashed if he's in a fence, and your dog should be better trained than to bark just because a dog is in their yard.

I would handle it like this. Next time they call, explain to the officer that your tired of this and ask them to go with you to talk to the neighbor to find out why they keep calling. I'm sure if you tell them your tired of wasting their time they will be willing to mediate a bit. Then you can find out if they really do have a reason to be mad at you, or if they just dont like the look of you. Good luck.

I wouldn't call on them just let it keep happening and basicly what will happen is the little boy who cried wolf if you know what I mean they will eventualy just stop coming out and of course being the person I am then I must say you may always try talking it out with them. But that of course is just my suggestion. Fair well

Quit doing dumb stuff. Stop and think about it. The stuff you are doing may just seem like "dumb stuff" but it might be very annoying or scary to those around you. Maybe they don't want to forced to listen to your music or cars driving up and down the street at all hours.

Either you move, or they do, otherwise you are stuck with the neighbors from Hell. There again, they may think that you are the ones from Hell. it's all in your point of view.
