I brought BBQ plates home from Texas on the plane in 1998.

Would airlines allow that now-a-days???

They have to let food on because they don't serve meals and have nothing for a person to eat in like a diabetic emergency. I take a sandwich and fruit, several energy bars, candy, and cheese and crackers. If you don't eat the stuff, there are always people who need food for medical reasons or who were not able to grab something. Food and drink is OK these days.

The first step , quit blaming you parents . If there are a lot of goodies in the house , you don't have to eat them . Next, take control . You're the one why eats it . Control your appetite . When you pick up a cookie , ask yourself which is better , the cookie or good health and a nice shape . No food is junk food . Desserts are served in the very expensive restaurants . A hamburger is beef and bread are not junk foods . Use self control . Blame yourself whenever you overeat . Goodies all over the house doesn't mean you have to eat them .

You may bring food onto the plane. I saw a guy come through security with a bag from Burger King. The only limitation is drinks. Anything liquid must be purchased after you get through security.

You can't bring food from home other than pre-packaged snacks, but you can buy food on the concourse and take it aboard. In fact, my last two flights had people bringing sandwiches on.

Maybe not "plates" but that's because it might be hard. Pack a sack lunch, sure! Or a small cooler (soft vinyl carry-on type) and you'll be fine.

I've taken my lunch on board several times.
