Then you wound up on the wrong side.

Besides, Jesus came from the other side, so we can be confident. That is, if we are on Jesus' side.

Pascal's Wager. It is logical to believe in God. If He does exist, belief means Heaven is gained and denying means Hell and torment. On the other hand if God isn't real, belief means you've lived life anticipating heaven and seeing loved ones who died before you. Denying means you've lost nothing.

In both scenarios, not believing is either horrific and eternal, or just meaningless. But in both case, believing is gainful. So we all should believe, coming from the logical standpoint.

Ravi Zacharias adds to that point. If there is no God, then the ultimate purpose of life is personal happiness. Therefore, assuming God isn't real, the person who believes in God anyway has acheived the "ultimate purpose" of happiness because he expects Heaven after death, so he's unafraid of dying; he also lives with the ethical code of forgiveness and freedom from guilt, compassion on others, especially who are suffering and contentment with whatever he has. And the believer gains practical wisdom for solving life's dilemmas, as well as a group of like-minded supporters in times of struggle and need.

Basically, what is there to lose by believing? Nothing. But rejecting... could mean the worst nightmare of all time!

Then none of us will ever know the difference, I suppose.

You know what's weird? People in general applaud those who live for something bigger than themselves. You know the ones...so dedicated to an idea or a way of life that they set an example for the rest of us. We reckognize how rare it is for someone to truly set aside the personal desires and embrace a larger picture.

Unless they're a Christian...the world is increasingly set against Christians, even though a true Christian lives to serve God at the expense of his/her desires. Be an atheist who works to fight world hunger, people will applaud you. Do the same things as a Christian, and no one will give you any credit. Why is that??

If God wasn't there, then there should be another meaning of life. Live life for what you are and what makes you happy. Since believing in God gives you faith in life and causes order in the world. I don't see why we shouldn't believe in God no matter what is in the afterlife.

If there is no God, there is no heaven, there is no hell. You lose nothing.

But, what if there IS a God, a heaven, a hell? Feel like you are making the right decision, considering the possible consequences?

It's a gamble for your eternal life, isn't it?

Are you saying everything just came to be? Science tells me there are millions of perfectly formed (created?) galaxies but cannot begin to explain how they got here!!! Believe what you want I know the God of the Bible is was and always will be.

then i would feel complete in the knowledge that I have been blessed to have known Him here in this life,
and my life has been truly blessed by His followers that have made my time here more enjoyable than in would have been with out them.

when i reach out to them they reach back.
they show me love without my asking.
several have driven hundreds of miles to be a blessing in my life. and some of them I had never met before, or since.

Reverse the question... What if there is God on the other side? :)

Just believe to be safe. You're safer if you have God.
