We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us men and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary , and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

"Why are you really asking?"

Because I just wanted to point out that if you insert "We believe in one, holy, Catholic and apostolic church" it is what Catholics say in Mass at least EVERY SUNDAY.

Stop saying Catholics aren't Christian or are a false religion.

At least some of you acknowledge that it was a Catholic council that set up this creed that all Christians believe.

I'm not saying Protestants have to agree with everything the Church teaches, but how about some credit!?

Peace. Please.

Graciel, please find a Bible and read the first 14 verses of the book of John in the New Testament. If, after reading this you don't get that Jesus is indeed God, triune (3 in 1), Father, Son, Holy Spirit, then go to John 14:9-11 and John 10:30, or 1 Timothy 2:5. Blessing to you and may you truly meet God!

Yes, I certainly do believe all the Holy Bible tells us is the true Word of God.
Saying Catholics are not Christian is a prideful arrogant attitude I believe is displayed by false Christians. As long as anyone does not deny the Deity of Christ and does not teach false doctrine, people should leave them alone and go about the business of taking care of their own very obvious spiritual problems.
I am a non-denominational Christian and quite frankly I wish the Body of Christ would not divide itself into different groups which seem to be at odds with one another at times. It's very sad and does not help when one attempts to witness the gospel of Christ and His love. People don't see the love of Jesus when Christians are bickering and condemning one another rallying for the position of "best Christian".
Furthermore, any "scandals" regarding the Catholic church are no different from scandals in other churches which shows that apostasy is also non-denominational and all of them must deal with hypocrisy. When we read the Bible, we see it's exactly what Jesus said would happen and it's not just happening to the Catholic church.
Please allow me to add a commentary regarding the condemnation of some of our protestant ministers if I may.
Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

The servants of God who speak the truth should not be judged by other Christians or anyone else. There is scripture which deals with those who are false teachers, but I’m referring to the members of the Body of Christ who are true to God’s Word and who are doing what God is leading them to do. False teachers are not serving God and the above scripture does not apply to them.

One example is the condemnation regarding the preaching of Joel Osteen I have personally heard from Christians. I have NEVER heard Joel deny the deity of Christ nor have I ever heard him preach false doctrine. He is doing what God wants him to do. In his own words, “God has called me to be an encourager”. All true Christians are members of the Body of Christ and we each have our own jobs to perform within the Church. I’m not referring to a building or an organization when I use the word Church. The Body of Christ is His Church.

Another example is a radio “preacher” who condemned Billy Graham because he invited the Clintons to his last crusade. He is of the opinion that Reverend Graham should have invited family and close friends to his very last crusade instead of "sinners". What does he think a crusade is for? If sinners shouldn’t be there, what’s the point?

When God leads His children to work for Him in a particular area, they know what they are supposed to be doing and they don’t need anyone else trying to tell them otherwise. As long as they are not denouncing God’s Word or misinterpreting it in any way, leave them alone and ask God what YOU should be doing.

And thank you Mel Gibson for being the CATHOLIC which God called to give us the movie "The Passion of the Christ".

Composed at the Council of Nicaea in A.D. 325, adopted in a revised and expanded form in 381 A.D., known as the Nicene Creed. It also contained the line: "And we believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church."

Yes, Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. Yes, the Creed states the basics of Christianity. Protestants do not argue with this. They argue with side issues such as the nature of prayer, Mary, and 'communion'. Unfortunately, they make too much of these, and 'throw the baby out with the bathwater'.

No. The correct creed begins with "I" not "We"
He "suffered" under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. not crucified under Pontius Pilate.

"In one Holy Catholic and Apostolic church, I profess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.."

Yes I agree, what is your problem. I believe you are a Christian but not catholic member because you may oppose on the baptism. They are baptizing a little child of no sin committed.

That statement is true and correct.

And, Jesus Christ is alive today more surely than any other 100% true fact that you can name. You can have salvation and forgiveness of sin just for the asking. He is still saying "follow me". Its a free gift, a gift of eternal destiny for you in Heaven.

The Nicene creed. A frequent element of Christian beliefs.

I am a christian and i will admit vaguely that there are parts of that that i have problems with and that i question my faith. However, being a true christian, i will not tell you which parts that i ever question. it is not wrong to think, but it is to blaspheme. in fact, i think it is natural to question and honorable to admit that you have before. AS FAR AS WE'RE CONCERNED IT IS THE TRUTH!

(Later..) BTW. Someone just gave me a "big thumbs down" for my response and i feel that that is pretty lame. I think it is impossible for someone to completely to agree with everything in that creed for there entire life, unless they are Jesus Christ himself. i am not perfect, neither is anyone else. so let me (OMG) commit a sin here and tell whoever did that to kiss my catholic-every sunday church going- moralistic- a**.
