I don't think it is out of fashion. I am teaching my 3 year old to say them and use them in both English AND Spanish.

Unfortunately, there are also other issue that are problems as well, such as rising gas prices, gang violence (which could learn a thing or two from this question), increasing poor lower class and rich getting richer. Sadly though, people much rather know the outcome of the stupid reality (or as I call it FAKE-ality) TV shows.

Not at all.
I still use them - all the time, I say thank you even when I get off a bus or "please" when asking for the time.
People may think it's out of fashion, but the people who use Please and Thank you usually get noticed and are seem in a higher esteem. Don't you agree?

Sadly, the smallest of courtesies that often have the most gracious impact are lacking in our flight to urbanization.

I always instruct my coachmen to wave at their fellow drivers whilst I wave at the gathered throngs.

Thank you.

I still use them on a daily basis, and teach my granchildren to say them as well.
