What did "God" need to learn?

As a muslim I must state that I believe Jesus was a Prophet, as the earliest followers of Jesus believed.

Rev Tom, when Jesus said that he and his father are one, he meant that he was preaching God's words.

I ask you, if he is God, why did he tell some people looking at him, that they have never seen God.

Why did he say, don't call me good, only God is good.
Why did he pray?
the problems with this belief are endless

Well, here is the Catholic answer; Jesus did not really have an idea that he was who he was until the age of twelve. We believe that Jesus is part of the Holy Trinity (God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit). Why did he go to school? Because God being God needed to experience what is was like just to be a man.
God knew everything except what is was like NOT to know everything. So, he sent his son (a seperate yet connected part of himself) to teach and learn just like any other person with a few special gifts. God had to experience humanity "as one of us". So, many believe. It still is part of the "mystery of the faith". Catholics tend to believe that only God really knows why and that the Bible does not answer everything. I think Jesus would be unhappy with those who throw Bible quotes about just to put down people of different faiths. He would never have done that! Besides, most of the Born Agains use the King James Bible and that is the worst Bible. King James took the regular (look at some Catholic Bibles or Oxford Study Bibles) and chopped out things that did not suit him. One book he chopped out was the Book of Judith that celebrated who a woman could serve God and be strong. I think Jesus would be annoyed with people who toss about Bible quotes like frisbies!! I'll say a rosary for you lot and a few Hail Marys and talk to all the Saints!
God loves everybody. Jesus would as well. I hope this helps you!!

Well, it is not expressly recorded that he attended any formal education, although it is clear that Jesus could read and write. God came to earth in the form of Jesus as an example to us.

He taught us how to pray by example, how to treat others by example, and how to honor God by example. The purpose was to demonstrate the proper way for us to lead our lives and to prove to us that it could be done.

We were taught to emulate Jesus. He also said that we would perform greater miracles than he had in his life.

Finally, Jesus became the final and ultimate sacrifice for our sins. No longer did we need to sacrifice living creatures at the altar.

Jesus gave us the truth we had been seeking, ended the need for prophets, and began the error of preaching and teaching the Word.

Jesus not only said that he and the father were one, but that if you had seen him, you had seen the father, and that no one came to the father except through him, i.e. by imitating his actions here on earth and following his teachings.

All of the law was reduced to these three commands:
Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
Love your neighbor as yourself.
Love one-another as Jesus loved us.

In Christianity, love is not a mere feeling or emotion; it is an action as described in 1st Corinthians, chapter 13.

It is understood that the Quran teaches that Jesus was not the son of God. There is no God but Allah. We Christians believe he was the son of God. He was taught by many Scholars and teachers around the world. He was special and prophesied to come. He was groomed as and called Rabbi.
I was wondering! If you except Jesus as a Prophet and his words, why then do you not study and except his own words that he is the son of God. For he said, "My Father and I are one."

God is not Jesus and Jesus was not God...the myth of the trilogy has been going on for too long.
God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are 3 different things once you realize that then you will see that Jesus had to go to school in order to better understand us mortals and to wipe out our sins.

Like I always say, even a broken clock is right twice a day! You are absolutely right about the fact that Jesus wasn't God but wrong if you can't accept the other truth he spoke of when he said so many times that he was the son of God... I just can't win! Can't please you and can't please them. The good news is that it is the true God I must please and not men. That One wants to be worshiped in spirit and truth and said not to add any other books to the Holy Bible... You see what I mean?

Jesus was just a kid that decided he wanted to study the different world religions...He ended up piecing together the bits and pieces of thees world religions and started preaching his understanding of the philosophies he studied...Somewhere things got really twisted.. not many people were educated back then. so anyone that could read or write and especially had formal theosophical studies was revered ..Hence the reverence to the Jesus character as a lord/prophet....PS. Im not a christian......Im no denomination...but I do read up on the views and opinions of world religions.....Very Very interesting.....

Jesus went to school because we have to go to school. Seems simple enough to understand.

Jesus had to be human in every way so that God could show that he understands what it is like to be us.

Besides, if Jesus wasn't fully human, then he couldn't suffer for the sins of humanity.

JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD. BORN AND RAISED TO BE OUR PAYMENT FOR SIN. HE DIED AND ROSE AGAIN TO PAY OUR DEBT SO THAT WE MAY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE WITH HIM AND THE FATHER IN HEAVEN!

THE MUSLIM RELIGION IS A RELIGION THAT TAKES GOD'S WORD AND TWISTS IT AROUND, TAKES FROM HIS WORD AND ADDS TO IT, TO MAKE IT FIT YOUR BELIEFS.

THE BIBLE WARNS YOU OF JUST THAT!!

Revelation 22:19
And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

i will pray that you and all the other miss led Muslims will see the truth and be saved!
