What does the bible say about this? If the bible says that women are to submit to their husbands or other men shouldn't women do this to be Christians?

That rib idea lizardman got me thinking. You know we say it comes from the heart. The heart is place of love. I wonder if back in those days the rib was considered the place of love in the body? In Africa one group of people says love comes from the liver. Just a thought. Sorry to get off topic.

By the way to everyone I am not a woman or black and I did not mean 'submit' as anything sexual.

Yes women are equal, they should submit to their husband but not other men. This does not mean that she is to be treated as anything other than a equal.

The Bible says that women are to submit to their own husbands, not to everyone else's husband. Submit does not mean that they are to be a slave.

It also says that men are to give honor to their wives as the weaker sex (physically). And they are to love their wives as themselves. God intended that man and woman be partners.

In terms of capacity for salvation, and ability to know and follow God, they are equal. There is no male or female in the Kingdom of God, however, there will be some who were women in their physical lives ruling over some who were men and vice versa.

Otherwise, it is obvious that in some ways men are superior to women and in other ways women are superior to men. God intended this, He created us this way. That does not make one better than the other. He intended that a man and woman join together in love and become one.

can we purely ask the question are men and females persons equivalent, with out any preconcluded statements or assumptions or doctrines, can we purely look on the subject totally of itself? in the beginning what can we propose through equivalent? the place does the notice originate, what's the sense of the notice equivalent? equivalent: from Latin. æqualis "uniform, same, equivalent," from æquus "point, even, purely," Does it count which attitude is being studied? are not we additionally assuming that men and females persons are separate? Does one function with out the different? Then, to what end? needless to say in some technical initiatives, men do no longer choose women persons, and girls persons do no longer choose men. whether, in different respects, the two are area of one function. In a bar: the beer comes out of a faucet, and the coke comes out of a dispenser. however the bar is one unit. If there is not any coke, then the bar is incomplete. If there is an attitude being studied, there in lies the germination of inequality. in case you have a burning want, that want will dominate one's expertise, which will propose different aspects of life are omitted. So inwardly, are we equivalent, balanced, total, healthful? on the point of expertise, there may well be fragmentary differences derived from actual genetics, yet on the full, distinguishing differences is what creates the subject of branch, inequality! meaning what? branch is brought about through "thinking and memory of those conclusions, and appearing upon them"! If opinion is predicated upon one's reports, like a meal is predicated upon its components, then needless to say each and every individual might desire to even see issues unequally, meaning discrimination is inevitable. As one's very own comments are patently constrained through previous adventure, one's comments: will they be appropriate? So if we choose equality, can we'd desire to start afresh, and pass away in the back of the previous?

I'm not gonna follow the bible.. Its in a drawer somewhere and its dark in there...plus I'm claustrophobic...Women should be there own person and not follow a prescribed rule or submit to anyone they don't want to.....For the time that the bible was written in.. maby those ways were ok.. But times have changed...alot. 2000 years of change....Humanity has crawled out of their caves...Men and Women are equal in many ways...But not in the baby makin dept..

ever wonder why God chose to remove the rib from Adam and not any other bone? my opinion on this is we are equal we are to walk side by side not one in front of the other. or one is greater than the other. if God wanted to show a women is lesser than a man wouldn't he have taken a bone from say the foot? there is a hierarchy as the man is the head of the woman as Christ is the head of the church. meaning we have a responsibility to take care of the woman as Christ takes care of the church. we are to lay our lives down if need be to protect the woman. it also makes us more accountable if our family fails it is ultimately our fault. My wife is my equal in everything except protection. I am made differently and if need be I am to place myself in harms way to protect her. anything other than a male and female being equal from the new testament is rubbish. and you need to read all the verses before and after a quoted verse read the last of the chapter.

IF you are silly enough to follow a fairy tale, then no women are not equal to men. Men, according to the bad book, were made of the dirt and silt of the true earth. Women, made of man's rib. If the fems were truly equal, according to the bible, they would have come from the same silt and dirt of the earth as man did.

equal to men? Yes.
But suited to different purposes.
Scripturally, yes, women are to be submitted to their husbands.
The passage to which you are referring is Ephesians 5. Just prior to that teaching is the verse that says that couples are to be submitted to each other.

No, I am not equal to any other human, I am less than all, I am a servant to my wife, children and everyone I meet.

Love your neighbor as yourselves!

"25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the word,"

Ephesians 5:24
