What is the best way/product to rid of acne? I have fair, medium oily skin. The problem is most products have a ingredient called benzoyl peroxide which iam alergic to (even proactiv solution has it!). What is the best skin care product to use that doesn't have that ingredient?

I had the same problem, I would breakout worse, so I found out about salicylic acid in Neutrogena and my face cleared up, Its not that expensive, I would also look into Aveeno, My son was only 7 at the time it first came out and he had chicken pox and we used it and it worked so good it looked like he hardly had them so I use alot of that, I have one more secret I just found follow it at your own risk, I had one of those massive hard mountains on my forehead this weekend and I put that callas remover made by Dr. Scholls in alittle bottle it has 17% Salicylic Acid instead of just 2% and it was gone in one day. I did it at my own risk, Good Luck!!!!!1

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL
1/ Never, ever touch your face.
2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day.
3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal
4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal.
Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing.
5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again.
6/ Do this for 90 days.
7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days.

A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a
nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes.

The secret is never to touch the spots

Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

Benzoyl Peroxide 10% is the best. But it does tend to dry out your skin and make you more prone to sun or wind burns.

Sorry didn't notice that you are allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide in that case, I would recommend a Salicylic Acid based product. They are available OTC at most pharmacies or WalGreens or Wal-Mart.

All Clear works really well. Only the moisturizer contains benzoyl peroxide. But, you could swap the moisturizer from the All Clear with their Skinlogics line. I think that would work very well for you.

Money back guarantee! Let me know if I can help.

I would suggest Acne Free. I'm deeply sorry that you are allergic to benzoyle poroxide! That's a great cleanser to rid off acne. Acne Free works for me, but I recently been using that and the Proactive toner and lotion with it. Good Luck.

Are you allergic to Salicylic Acid? Thats whats in Neotrogenas products, and I think there are pretty good.
If you happen to see Bonnie Bell's Ten O Six toner, get it!
I haven't seen it for a while, but I used it since the 7th grade and never had an acne problem.

my boyfriend used Accutane. its powerful stuff... you had to take a pill everyday and get your blood tested once a month.

there was side effects he had as well.. the most serious he had was bloody noses, headaches and very bad mood swings!!

it did a wonderful job though... it takes about 6 months to fully clear the skin, wasnt too expensive but wasn't cheap.
