Simple. Not following the Bible/Going against the Bible. No this doesn't mean make a mistake and your out on your ear, we are ALL imperfect. It just means we all strive to follow the Bible.

I searched and searched for the truth until I studied with Jehovah's Witnesses. Once I studied with them and went to the Kingdom Hall I knew I had found the truth. You can also request a free home Bible study, and I know you will see that what Jehovah's Witnesses teach and believe is from the Bible.

J-witness' consider birthdays unimportant, then only b-day that matters is the birth of christ, which they don't celebrate in the way other christians do, because of it's pegan background. Sports, rockstars, any type of celeb is consider idol worship. Smoking and drinking are out to. Here's what they do believe, 12000 members from each of the 12 camps of David are going to heaven at the time of the Rapture (144,000 total) and the rest are to stay behind and try to save the souls of those that are not raptured before the second comming.
I'm not a witness, but I had several friends in highschool that were. They also don't say the pledge, or date until they are old enough to marry and go to church 5-8 times a week.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe as the bible teaches. It would seem, of course, that they understand "the way of God more correctly".
(James 2:19) You believe there is one God, do you? You are doing quite well. And yet the demons believe and shudder.
(Acts 18:24-28) Apollos... was well versed in the Scriptures. This man had been orally instructed in the way of Jehovah and, as he was aglow with the spirit, he went speaking and teaching with correctness the things about Jesus... When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him into their company and expounded the way of God more correctly to him.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not not celebrate Christmas, birthdays and Easter not because they have to or because someone told them not to and not because they are afraid of Him but because they love Him. They see requirements of God as "not burdensome". These requirements are not. And they do celebrate. Maybe not everything that everyone else does like birthdays and Christmas. But do you think that God wouldn't want us to enjoy ourselves? Do contact me for more details, I would be happy to share them with you. Please refrain from offence of any kind of Jehovah's Witnesses.

A big no no for Jehovah's Witnesses is associating with apostates, that is people who used to be one of them but got disfellowshipped. Mostly they don't want you to associate with them because they know that the ones that left for 'logical' issues with the sect might try and convince other members to leave. Other ones that had sexual experiences might possible lure others into such practices. The truth about the truth might become available if the are allowed to learn about the ideas and realizations of others about the doctrines they disagree with. They feel that apostates will poison members with lies and ideas.
The no Blood policy is another taboo for them, definitely the most popular. They now allow for members to take certain 'fractions' of blood which in my opinion makes no sense.
Celebrating holidays is a popular yet not really as taboo as others. They more than likely won't really punish you, only counsel, you if you are caught making thanksgiving dinner.
Another big taboo is homosexuality, adultery, and fornication.
The biggest is probably satanism or worshiping the Devil. They believe that one can become possessed by the Devil if you open your mind up by having a sanoyc (mispelled) a oujio board. I remember when I was young that was the scariest thing. My sisters told me one time that a girl from another congregation watched the Exorcist and a demon came from the television and started choking her. Know I know she probably had a little too much LSD.

Don't tell them Jesus is God, they deny the plainly stated Bible Doctrine of His Godhood. They believe He is a Created Being, where the Scripture plainly states, "In the beginning was (already past tense in the beginning) the Word (Jesus before His Incarnation as Human Messiah) and the Word was with God And The Word was God." Their NWT spells God there with a small case G. Their Leader, made the translation and in a court case (Public Record) admitted under oath, he had no formal training in Greek Or Hebrew. He had previously said under oath, he was fluent in Both the Languages, but under threat of perjury, he told the truth. They have many other false doctrines, but they don't like open challenges with the public record available to be used against them. I recommend Walter Martin's Book, "Kingdom of the Cults" as the best book out there with info on most Cults. Hank Hanagraph also has things available on the subject.
