Ive lost 30 pounds since Feb 28th so I would think your goal may be reachable, but it may require a little more work.
The rate at which you lose the weight will depend on your current size, eating habits, etc.
Stay away from the no-carb or low carb diets. These diets put your body into "starvation" mode in order to lose weight and are not healthy diets unless you are under close supervision by a doctor.
Also, starting a routine such as running right off the bat would be very dangerous. If you are looking for any advice, this is what I suggest....I lost 30 pounds in 2+ months by doing the following:
-Eat a small breakfast (I usually eat a cereal bar). Breakfast is essential.
-Eat a lite lunch (I buy 5 or 6 Lean Cuisine meals per week). If you eat breakfast, this will tide you over until lunch. If you get the munchies in between breakfast and lunch, or after lunch, snack on some pretzels or some other low fat snack.
-Eat what you want to for dinner, but dont over eat. If you eat breakfast and lunch, you shouldnt want to overeat. If you get hungry later, eat an apple or some kind of fruit.
-STOP GOING TO MCDONALDS. I stopped fast food plain and simple. Itll allow to you lose more weight, plus you will save some money also.
-Drink lots and lots of water. Its going to suck at first, but in about a week or 2, you will get used to it. No more cokes, pepsi's, or any soft drink. Water and water only!!!. If you do get a craving for a coke, by all means, get one, but no more than 1 a week.
-Last but not least. Walk at least 2 miles every other day. Walking will help speed up your metabolism plus boost your enery levels. Go buy an Ipod or MP3 player, and get to walking!!!
I wish you luck my friend. If I can lose weight, anyone can!!

Congrats on getting started!! There are lots of different diets and they do all work. But....it can be hard to stay on most of them and you tend to gain weight back when you go off them.
The best guarenteed diet is counting calories. The average adult needs 1500-2000 calories per day. It's all about portion control. One pound of food, any food equals 3500 calories.
Weight Watchers also has a good plan-the points plan. My parents, my sis and her hubby, my aunt and uncle have all used this plan and have lost weight. All foods are assigned a point value. You are given a daily point value basised on your current weight and what goal you are trying to reach. You can't eat more than your daily assigned points. The points assigned to food are probably based on calories.
But it works and it's not hard. You can eat anything you want but you can't go over your daily allowance of points.
I think 50 lbs before Sept is a little iffy. The average healthy loss is no more than 2 lbs a week. If we take 16 weeks from now (that's into Sept), that's 32 lbs. You just might be able to do it though.
Keep it up. Don't give up. Do some research and find some thing you think you can handle.

I'm sorry but that's not healthy. A more realistic goal would be to lose 30 pounds by September 4th.
The best and most effective way to lose and keep weight off is to eat healthy and excersize regularly.
I'm thinking about trying the 21 in 21 days detox...Not as a weight loss regiment but as something to cleanse out my system. Try a google search for more information about it.

That's a lot of weight to loose within a 3 to 4 month time frame. They say that it's healthiest to loose 1 to 2 pounds per week, so to loose 50 pounds in a healthy (and likely perminent manner), it would take about 50 weeks.

A healthy weight loss is 2 pounds per week. I have been on a diet since mid March and have lost 20 pounds. If you stick to the diet and exercise, you can do it! Good luck!

Yeah, working out is a good idea.
If your still in school or so, try walking instead of driving to school or work. Unless its MILES away.
You will not only gain stamina, but lose some pounds- look slim.
If your going to eat heality, do whatever you can, (diets, nonfat stuff etc), just dont become anorexic.

Natural, Tasty, Healthy metabolism boosters are
RAW onions, Garlic, Ginger, Cumin, Cayenne, and raw organic coconut oil, (lots)
These stimulate your thyroid, pituitary, and pineal glands. Your whole body will benefit. These glands metabolize fats and excess water, (water retention)
Sometimes getting rid of parasites makes people loose tons of weight. That's what I am doing. One spoon of Diatomaceaous earth in the morning is a wonderful parasite killer. Plus it is loaded in Silica (it makes your hair and nails and teeth strong and grow FAST) Plus it is a natural diaretic.
DO NOT EAT SWEETS...
you'll do great!!!
I am nursing right now so can't eat too much like that, (except for the diatomaceous earth) but many of my friends simply took sweets out of their diet (including sweet fruits, yogurts etc) and they are thin or became thin fast.

Weight Watchers works particularly good! I have already misplaced forty kilos. Once you become a member of you're going to determine your facets approach so you're going to accurately lose a million-two kilos a week. It is thoroughly viable to lose 30-50 kilos! Good Luck!

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Eat 6 small healthy meals/snacks a day instead of 3 big ones. This will build up your metabolism and along with exercise, you should notice a significant difference in a matter of weeks.
