The Old Gods are real, and they never really went away. Various cultures worshiped pantheons of divine beings who embodied or ruled over various aspects of the Universe. These Gods are living beings in the Spirit realm, each with their own personality, identity, and motives. They are each separate and independent beings. The Old Gods do not die when they are forgotten -- they sleep, awaiting the time when someone will remember. And now, with the growth of the Neopagan Movement, the Old Gods are back. There is currently a revival of the worship of the Old Pagan Gods of the Greeks, Celts, Norse, Egyptians, etc. To a Modern Pagan, these Gods are every bit as real as Jesus is to the Christians.
And, as the old saying goes, "Blaspheme not the name by which another knows his God. . . "
There are many Gods in the Universe, and many different kinds of people. We can't all be worshiping the same God, and you know what? That's OK!

I believe that there is just one god, but that god is much more than any person can comprehend. So through out history, in an attempt to be able to understand god, we humans have put various names on various aspects.
I don't believe god is a being at all. God is energy. God is everything. God is in everything. God is light and so much more.
So Thor, Loki and Odin are not real being, but they are names we humans have put on various aspects of the whole.

There is one creative energy in the universe and all religions are cultural interpretations of that energy. Personified Gods enjoy life as long as their are those on Earth to believe and breath life into them. When they fall out of the hearts and minds of the People, they lose their power and they die off in a way. I think that most of the Gods have even a small following today, so yes they are real and, in a way, alive.
Peace!

Anything is real when you feel it, and it's up to you to name it, God, Evil, or whatever.

Faith is subjective, so therefore any 'God' is as real as those who believe in it wish it to be.
