Force everyone that is for amnesty to take personal and financial responsibility for an illegal alien family. The sponsoring family must pay 100% of all costs (education, medical, etc) associated with the illegal aliens.

That way, the other taxpayers will not be stuck with a 3.4 trillion dollar bill!

That would be a good start but we need more.

To teran_realtor - We do NOT need to deport but just a few of these people. If we use common sense they will leave at their own expense. We need to remove the rewards and incentives for them to come here.

No more welfare.
No more jobs.
No more anchor babies.
No more housing.
No more free medical.
No more school (it costs $10,000 per year)
No more amnesties.

I think that would be poetic justice - but as you look at all the old, broke beatniks, you'll see that poetry doesn't pay the bills.

The unfortunate reality is that deportation of 12 to 20 million people is not only politically impossible, it would be a huge financial burden, and a logistical impossibility too. So they are going to stay.

But what CAN be done is this - give them the right to work and pay taxes. Give them the right to buy and sell things. DO NOT ALLOW THEM EVER TO HAVE CITIZENSHIP. This way, the politicians will not be fighting each other to determine whether we only admit future Democrats or future Republicans (based on education and other factors, this can be predicted) Instead, our politicians will only look at the problem from a human standpoint, and what's best for the country. In fact, it would help ALOT if we simply did away with the concept of "Naturalized Citizenship". Make citizens ONLY of people born here.

BTW - Only citizens VOTE. Permanent resident aliens (green card holders) cannot VOTE.

First we need to recognize the problem. The problem isn't anything to do with our system (The US) The problem is the corrput Mexican government that doesn't take care of its people. Its easy for them to just say, "You want jobs go to the US". Its great for them...more $$ for mexicans without any effort on their part. This makes them too reliant on the US. ...another issue reguarding the problem is i don't think these mexicans know anything about 'LEGAL' immigration. All they know is you sign up and if your lucky in about 8 years you might be able to migrat to the US. They are in poverty now and cannot wait that long. Thus, they enter ILLEGALLY. My solution would be.... First you secure the border by building some sort of barrier, such as a wall...duh! we need to do that for obvious reasons. Then we need some sort of system in place where we can allow mexican immigrants to enter legally. We should work with the Mexican government...let mexicans know if you want to come here then first there are some things in Mexico you must accomplish first, these would be incentives in order to speed up your process of LEGAL immigration....such as a certain amount of community service in Mexico, some sort of education or degree, learn english, etc. I think if we do something like this...then while mexicans are trying their hardest to get here as soon as they can...the flip side they will also be improving their own country. If alot of them are doing comunity service, then they are bettering their cities and with an education or learned skills some will just find it better to stay in Mexico with it turned around now for the better.

For sure.Let's have every Congressman adopt a family for at least a month. They can't put them up in the Motel Six... they must live in the mansion with them and little Muffy and Buffy.
