Many people don't have a sense of who they are, and if you don't know who you are it's very difficult to find your direction and to make meaning of your experiences. When you don't have a strong sense of identity as your anchor, you can be blown this way and that by any passing breeze.

Why are so many people using poetic obfuscation (stranded, seas of life, anchor, compass) to avoid thinking about what they are actually saying?
*slaps forehead*
Oh yeah, I forgot. Religious mind control through language control. Can anyone say 'abstraction layer'? Note how the christians take the poetic obfuscation completely transparently, having fallen for it hook, line and sinker. Note also how many of the atheists are confused, because they have not had the dogmatic obfuscation drilled into them.

You can't be "stranded" at sea. You can be "adrift" or "lost" but not stranded.
You can be stranded on the side of the road, stranded on a deserted island, stranded at the airport --
Plus, I don't need a compass -- I have GPS.

We've strayed far away from the Truth of God's Word, we are weak and afraid to "offend" people with the Gospel of Salvation through Jesus Christ.
