I know that there shouldnt be any meaning. i am currently taking a college level class (writing 105+106) on how society defines people without even getting to know them first. but i want to know what people think... what does it mean when a person has an eyebrow piercing? I like the look of eyebrow piercings and im really considering getting one... im 18 and im going to a community college next year (should of kept up those grades :-( ) anyways you use to hear people define others by their sexual orientation by which side they have their ear pierced... im just wondering if there is something that goes along with eyebrow piercings??? im not trying to make myself different or fit in with all of the people around me. but something in me makes me feel uber rebellous or different in a way with an eyebrow piercing... im also wondering about the cost and the problems i may have if i were to get one. here is what im looking to get http://www.silverflake.com/images/spikes.jpg

to me, an eyebrow piercing just means u like it & like the look of it...i have mine done & luv it!!! but i didn`t do it to be "rebellious" or whatever...i`ve loved the look of piercings ever since i saw slash from guns `n` roses with his nose pierced & that`s been many, many years ago!!! people don`t go by those old rules of judging a person`s sexual orientation by which side they have a piercing, that went out ages ago (or at least, it should have!)...i have male & female friends who are gay/bi/straight & they wear all different combos of piercings & have them on different sides...just choose the side that will look best to u & forget about sexual stereotyping!!!

these kind of questions are becoming old.. as are the anwers... women with peircings and or tattoos are NOT SKANY HO's They usually have a lot of self confidence to put up the crass statements, geeralisations and down right judgementalistic views of many of the people who have anwered here. So all women with piercings are Skanky Hos, or have no self confidence.. Ok tell that to the Attorney who has tattoos, the Nurse the Doctor, the scientist the lecturer need I go on.. I know many many women with peircings and tattoos.. Many Nurses drs and a few attorneys.. You know somthing they wouldnt be able to do thier jobs if they lacked confidence. Also they are in steady relationships or married an have been for years.. they are not Ho' s the problem with a lot of people is they are so perfect they have to pass thier sheltered judgments on others... Ge a life and experiance the real world.. I tell you this. if you all dont move forward and loose your judgmentism then you are not going to progress in this world.

I really don't know if there is any meaning attached to it. If you decide to get one, try to find a really reputable, clean place that does NOT reuse anything and where the people are clean and use gloves. Take really good care of the piercing. You can use Betadine soap to clean it with. It will stain clothing, but it is VERY good. (After all, they use it in surgeries.) And if you notice any signs of infection, unusual swelling, redness, seepage, etc, GO TO A DOCTOR.

my eyebrow is pierced, and i just did it because i liked how it looked on other people and i felt like it...i don't know if there is an actual meaning to it..

i dont think there's a meaning to having an eyebrow piercing, if there is one i think it mgiht be rebelling... maybe thats why all the rebels get their eyebrows pierced...

wow yeah thats pretty cool..The eyebrow piercing does look rebellious.But other than that,I don't know of any certain meaning.

Whenever I see one, it reminds me of one of my ex-girlfriends who had one. She was a crazy, controlling, psycho.
So of course, when I see that on someone, it makes me wonder if they're crazy too.
So that could be interesting thought to add. The external modifications of the body possibly unduly influence someone beyond what we would normally associate them with, ie. (rebellious, adventurous, ect...) based on ones own past experience--not just what current social standpoint dictates.
