I am really into photography and I remember years ago when my sister had gotten her first SLR..she had bought filters at that time which she would put on the front of the camera lens and it would add effects to her photos such as fog, rainbows, dreamscape.....and etc.... I know u can use that with photo software..but my SLR is 35mm I have yet find a good Digital SLR to my liking......I have looked everywhere for lens filters but find nothing...anyone have any ideas of what I could use or do???

Yes, I was an "addict" also.
I just did a search on eBay for "camera filters" which yielded 426 auctions. Is that enough to make a choice?
You can use "found" items to create some very interesting images:
1. Vaselene (sp?) lightly coating a piece of glass
2. Same with the center section uncoated creates a vignette effect.
3. Bottle glass
4. Plexiglass "lens" used on lighting fixtures
5. Shoot through layers of nylon stocking
6. Ask for used lighting gels from stage lights at a local theater
7. Take two pieces of screen wire, hold one in front of the lens and rotate the 2nd in front (against the 1st one and parallel to it). You can create some lovely Moire patterns.
Have fun!

Good suggestions. Also, www.bhphoto.com is crammed with filters of several different types.

With nylon hose, you can use white or black for different effects. The black reduces the appearance of wrinkles very well, like instant anti-aging cream!

I do have a bit of advice regarding your dSLR search.... Just do it! If you wait on the absolute perfect camera, you may be waiting until you're under the daisies instead of on top. If you are currently with Nikon or Canon and have a few lenses you like, then stay with that brand and get a camera that will work with your current equipment. If you're Minolta, the choice is a bit harder, if it were me I think I'd make a brand switch to have more available accessories and a better performing body than the Sony. Pentax and Olympus are also contenders. Go for it!

Since you are each fourteen, you almost always don't seem to be going to have an excessive amount of cash. So I advise, certainly one of you'll move over to the opposite's residence and when you've got a colossal vicinity that is peaceable, simply take little stroll round protecting fingers. You might even take her to the park or whatever. I do not know approximately your's however in which I reside, our's has somewhat creek and a host of bushes, like I stated. Take a walk, have a few jokes, and ta-da. Or if you do not like the outside an excessive amount of, I might advise going to the mall, as soon as once more protecting fingers, simply window looking and possibly you 2 might slip right into a snapshot sales space, take a few foolish portraits and at the final one, you might shock her with a kiss.

There are Photography swapmeets in most major cities that have bins full of this stuff. They typicaly meet once, or twice a year. Go to the serious camera stores in town. There should be flyers posted, or on the counter about swapmeets in your area. Also, try Ebay.
