We all are supposed to have Jesus in us right? Wouldnt that improve our lives? And thats just rough estimate, because pretty much everyone I know is Christian, and half of them are jerks.

mckenziecalhoun, you are being very, very, cruel. I only trolled three times on all my time at y/a. The rest are all serious questions, no matter what you may think. I AM CHRISTIAN! I it when people *Koff Koff Baalams talking donkey koff* who always mock us. Im being serious and this is a severe inhibitor on my faith right now. I assume your Christian, and your really just adding to my current cynical conceptions. I hope you read this.

First of all I would like to know how many of these Christians who are evil you have personally talked to. Did you take a survey of all the Christians in the United States? How did you
come to the conclusion that 1/2 of all Christians are evil?

I see you must be evil too since you choose to curse and call people total donkeys (I don't use that other word to describe people).

Your faith will never grow if all you can do is look at people. I believe the Bible tells us that we are to focus on Jesus. Then we are to clean up our act so we can be more like Him. That is an individual thing - not a corporate thing. Nobody can force anyone else to be a "good" Christian.

God can't change anyone against their own will. He allows us
to choose to obey Him or not! You need to do what God tells you to do and forget about what everyone else is doing. That way God may use you to help some of your evil brethren.

ONE MORE THING - ARE YOU A TROLL?!

Not everyone who say's that they are a Christian, really wants to be a Christian. They have have some other reason for saying so, and this was said to happen (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

As well, there are so many Christian groups out there, and if they're are say's different things, only one can be right. If you pray and search out if what people are saying, then God through his son Jesus Christ will lead you to his true people (Acts 17:27, Acts 15:14).

2 Timothy 4:3-4
For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories.

Acts 17:27
for them to seek God, if they might grope for him and really find him, although, in fact, he is not far off from each one of us.

Acts 15:14
Sym′eon has related thoroughly how God for the first time turned his attention to the nations to take out of them a people for his name.

Regarding the scripture Acts 15:14, do you know what Gods name is? (Exodus 6:3, Psalms 83:18 King James version)

Christians are not perfect by any means. Some are more judgemental than others. I won't go out and say that 50% of Christians are evil because that's a bit of a stretch.

Most of the Christians I've met are nice people; likewise, most Christians ARE nice people. There are always bad apples but you can't let that spoil the whole crop, if you get my point.

But just because you are a Christian doesn't give you an excuse to go out and sin again. You are supposed to be a role model to your unsaved peers as well as the world. If they see you living a non-Christian lifestyle, they'll be confused and wonder if you were ever saved in the first place.

Does not the Bible say the discern?
Test what is good...
The real issue is free will and the answer is the letter to the Laodicean church in Revelations 3. If you see a corralation when you read this and get a revelation from the Spirit in this, shoot me an email.

Western society lives in a secular filled and selfish lifestyle. Not everyone is like this but we must be careful about loving your neighbor but not being accountable and keeping others free from sin. The church has wrongfully used offenses and Matthew 7:1 to protect themselves from either intervening and saving a brother from death (James 5:20) or preventing true conviction from the Holy Spirit to enter their heart.
One other thing:
Most in the church have fallen in the trap that they're going to heaven without repentance and changing their lifestyle.
Lip service but their hearts are far away.
True repentance is the key but only when the hearts is fully exposed and sin is told as it is.

First of all, where do you get your information that 1/2 of all Christians are bad? I would be interested in knowing what kind of church you attend. I know that some of the fundamentalists teach their flock that others aren't really Christians unless they believe as they do. But that's not true. I have known good people from all different kinds of churches. There are good people and bad people in all of them. And you watch the bad ones put on a show at church, but then you know how they live the rest of the week. These are people who are trying to cloak their evil. Don't let them discourage you. Each of us needs to worry about his own salvation irregardless of what some other people do.

Please, study and read. Keep an open mind regarding all things. If your church feels wrong, it probably is. Don't be afraid to try out another denomination. Good luck and God bless.

I know I'm not "supposed" to answer this question, but don't worry--I'm not going to insult anyone.

I think all Christians support the belief of "love thy neighbor". This much I don't doubt. But I think what has happened is that some may have taken that love a little too far, or perhaps miscomprehended the Christian values they're supposed to have. Not all people think in the same fashion--you could interpret something completely different than someone else. Sometimes, people think they are chosen by God to do something that is questionable--how many people have killed, supposedly in the name of God? Murdered their child because God "said" the child was the antichrist? Maybe these people are lying, maybe they're delusional.

Point is, all people do is what *they* think is right.

The short answer is that Christians are also humans. Try to focus on the teachings of Jesus instead of those around you and it will make a huge difference in how you look at others. God is changing peoples lives everyday but that does not mean they become perfect overnight and that they will never disappoint you. There's an old saying, justification is the work of a moment, sanctification is the work of a lifetime. BTW...Here's a star!

Christians who don't act "like Christ" may very well be a fake Christian. If there is no difference in the behavior before and after someone who is "saved" They most likely are not a true Christian.

The truth is (according to the doctrine of Original sin) all people are born evil (since Adam and eve ate the fruit of the tree of life). It is only by accepting that Jesus died on the cross as payment for our sin and turning away from our sinful nature that we can be saved.

I think because the term "Christian" has been abused for profit and fame in a sense. It has become a label instead of the meaning, "Believer of Christ." And fanatics make it a joke in the media. (Think the "Wife swap"(On Fox) Fanatic lady and the "Reverend" on Jerry Springer.) Even "Fundamental Christian" has become meaningless. They seem to just "Go with the flow." But any person who studies the Bible and understands it knows that somewhere mixed in the cess-pool of "So-called Christians" there are true believers of the word and its meanings. And the strange thing about God is when you choose to abandon him, he doesn't curse you. He gives you a lifetime to think it over and come back, should you decide. The really only problem is when you have to STICK with your choice.

I often wonder this same thing my self and I also see it getting in the way of my faith. So here are my current thoughts on it.

I have noticed that a lot of christains say one thing and do another. They say that they love everyone because God tells them to, but then they distance themselves from "sinners". I dont agree with this and see it as a HUGE problem in the 'christain world'. I have considered leaving this 'world' for good because of its sometimes over the top standards and lack of acceptence. In my opinion there shouldnt even be a seperate 'christain world' at all.

Its hard to believe in something when the other belivers around you are so out of line. The thing is if you really believe and have faith in God, the world around you shouldnt be able to change that. (I'm not trying to question your faith.) I believe in God and I know that is a fact. The people around you cant be the controllers of YOUR faith. You are the one to decide that and apart of that faith is believing in God even when the world around you is screwed up.

As far as God changing people goes, God gave us the ability of choice. We all choose how we act and what we do. God can change people and He does, but He cant change everyone or we wouldnt be able to choose anything. Your walk with God is full of choices and sometimes, too often, christains choose to be stubborn, close-minded people. How can some one show their faith in God if they dont have a choice?

In conclusion, try to concentrate more on your actions and less on others. Its not our place to judge and not that you are, but its God's job to judge. Try to be the best example you can be and hopefully enough people will follow that in the 'christain' world and it will see a light of change.
