I'm just the opposite, I love eating fruit but have a hard time eating vegetables. You need to include both to get all the nutrients you need, but if not you should take a vitamin. If you stopped eating fruit you would be lacking Vitamin C.

You are on to a good track with paying attention to your sugar in take.
Most people are actually bi-polar glycimic. Not only do they experience high blood sugar when they eat or eat too much sugary foods but they also experience hyper insulin times where there is too much insulin and not enough sugar in the blood steam (despite what they have eaten).
Smaller meals more often are a good balancing tact. Avoid alcohol which can be worse then high sugar foods (or at least be aware).
In these modern times we get plenty of sugars from foods we do not even realize, and despite the vitamins and fiber in fruit we no longer need it as the quick food source we used to use it as (usually breakfast).

The truth is that too much of anything is bad and just as too little. I get this a lot as a personal trainer in the truth is you need it just as much as the veggies, and the difference between the sugar is that this is a natural sugar. Fruit has good carbs and has many benefits in vitamins such as A and C. Great for potassium and an excellent form of energy and a great alternative to cookies and ice cream

As long as you are eating enough vegetables you should be fine. You may also want to look at what vitamins and minerals you will be lacking like potassium, and vitamin C. You may want to find a supplemental source for them either by taking a multi vitamin or buying enriched foods.
You may want to speak to a nutritionist to make sure that you body is getting enough simple sugars as they are required by the body.

I feel the same way. I *love* veggies, but I just cannot stand most fruits.
I haven't had fruit in...months. And I'm pretty much fine. So I don't think it's that bad... Dietitians will say otherwise, but I don't eat fruit, and I'm still standing.
