I am thinking of buying a $350 scanner (sheet-fed). What do you use the scanner for?
I have a small CPA business, so I can use the scanner to digitize client's records. And I can scan my bills. What else do you use your scanner for?

I scan anything that will sit on the scanning bed.

Recently I tried to communicate on line reagding a broken part on our washing maching. Believe it or not they expected me to download a 68 page manula and then choose the part using the specification list of 1000 parts.

Instead I put the broken part on the skanner, laid the lid on top, sanned the object and then sent the picture to the company.

I had a new part in two days !

Last Sunday a friend showed me some pictures which he hadin his wallet. They were irreplaceable and wonderful old pictures. I borrowed them for 3 minutes, laid them on the sacanner and did copies of them for my own picture file (with his permission of course)

My wife admired the new glasses a visiting girlfriend had/ She laid the glasses on the scanning bed and scanned them. Next day she asked the optician if he knew the brand. He did and she got the same glasses except in a different color.

I could go on and on. I use my scanner every day. I can't imagine spending $350 on one. Mine cost $68 and it does everthing in color or B&W, 48 bit. If you really want to spend more then I suggest you ask the salesman what ELSE you get. My guess he will say " Oh, with this one you get a copier as well". My second guessis that your offfice has a copier anyway so why get two?

We use ours for document imaging, so everything coming in by post (ie. bills, renewal etc.) are scanned into the server with date/time stamped, then the hard copies are filed offsite.
