As the female Praying Mantis bites the head off the male after they mate I would say that a male praying mantis probably prays for the strength to remain celibate.

All mantids are Insects. All mantids are also Anrthropods... In fact, all Insects are arthropods, but not all arthropods are insects. It seems that some people are a bit confused because being an Arthropod does not make a bug an Insect.
